In Malaysia, metal cds are very expensive since theres no first party importers around for metal. Still it doesnt stop me from buying them. I proudly stopped smoking to save up more money to support the metal cause. 8) I believe it's not a case of money, rather a case of priorities.

Since moving to Australia things are much better since there's cheap underground distros around.

Why? CD's are usually sorted out by letters!

Yeah I have spent more than $9,000 (Canadian) on CD's thus far, and I hate Burnt CD's  ! I don't even make that much money, it is just the Lust for Metal.

I've got about 500 CD, all original. And around 200 LP, and 200 tapes.

But I always download from emule before buying. I listen to it and maintain moreless one week in my HD, before deleting it. Just to decide if I'll buy or not, and rate. I don't like to decide based on samples, or songs out of context.

And I don't pay and download the extra stuff. Singles, b-sides, demos, japanese bonus tracks, songs previoused unreleased in best of, etc... I never pay for these stuff.

I wish I could come more often... :(

On topic, I don't see the harm in having some burnt CDs. If I merely think the album is ok and don't listen to it more than once every few months its not exactly worth full price to me.

Right now I am sitting at about 250 cds with an additional 50 cdrs. Would have more but I have a bad habbit of doing stupid things like taking cds to social functions in wich alchahol is involved or borrowing them out. Perhaps if I was more intelligent I would have more cds and money. I have however learned the valuable lesson of backing up all newly bought cds on my hard drive.

About 100 real CDs and about five burnt ones (Craig's fault :P ). I buy weekly, usually going for the cheaper stuff, but sometimes I get full-priced albums, at £12-odd. Britain's very expensive for CDs. :(

I have a lot og CDs and vinyls. I have no idea how many since they are sorted by hand grenade. A rough estimate would be 500 but they're collected over many years so the expenses have been cut into small portions at the time.. On a normal month whith no extraordinary releases I don't buy more than 1-3 CDs. Often I check out some mp3's in advance to avoid throwing money at something I don't thoroughly enjoy. I don't really care about rarities so I usually go for the cheap editions if such exists..

I try to adhere to a pretty strick policy of one album per week with a $25.00 (cdn) budget. With a couple of solid $100 binges when I go to Toronto... I guess that means Im dropping about $1400 yearly.

The moral of this story is that I should really start downloading more... but I just like having the physical CD's in hand. I like the jacket... I like supporting the bands... I work in the video games industry, so I might be a little jaded towards piracy.

Hey drakanripper, what game company do you work for?Bioware,Ubisoft?Just curious.I also enjoy supporting metal and actually having a physical collection which I can stare at and browse through.

I'm definitely not wealthy by any means but I tend to order almost exclusively online, partly due to the only decent cd shop in town closing.I sometimes order a cd or two even when I shouldn't just because I have to have them, but now that I have a new job my plans are a nice healthy splurge every month of about a couple hundred bucks or so no that I can afford it.There have been so many cd's I have had to hold off on getting it's driving me crazy! But sometime next week man,cd's shirts and anything else I want,I can't wait!
