HIT

3 albums full of inspired pop songs...

I don't think many metalheads can love it but the more open-minded among us will, at least, admit the talent of those fellows...

and, Seinfeld, they're close to Radiohead in the sense that both bands play their kind of aerial, not too radio oriented pop... but Radiohead are, imho, a more intersting/experimental band than Coldplay... it would be more accurate to compare Coldplay to Travis or REM and Radiohead to Muse or Porcupine Tree...

Surely Radiohead are light years ahead of both Muse and Porcupine Tree, but that's another thread entirely...

imho Muse are growing better with each album... at first I thought they were just Radiohead clones but I was proven wrong... I have great expectations now...

Hmm. I love the first Muse album... I really think it's a unique record. But after that they went more ambitious- which is good- but without the emotional depth of Radiohead. I can't see them ever creating something as magnificent as OK Computer!

I'd kill Chris Martin myself given the chance.

Bland, pedestrian, safe, overhyped, self-important, deluded garbage.

Basically.

Miss

Simply Travis played with even less passion and more holier-than-thou posturing

Miss. Radiohead is more experimental and interesting that coldplay ever will dream to be. MTV pop vs experimental/innovative pop.

Of course always is better listen to Coldplay that Britnyspirs, the limpinz shit, or St. Anger. It is boring music well done, at least.

Hit, although it's more straight forward than I'm usually interested in, they are a talented band. They do have some less inspired songs, but not more than most bands. At least they make better music than 80% of the metalbands.

this is a total miss. Chris Martins vocals really annoy me. they seem so passive and weak. and i have listened to a fair bit of coldplay cos my parents like them.

i would say miss. The kid that works next to me listen s to Coldplay and i hear quite a bit of it. They are terribly boring anf bring nothing to the table. I do listen to some mellow music sometimes but this stuff is garbage. Radiohead, while I wouldnt consider myself a fan, are obviously an impressive band and deserve respect. Coldplay is adult contempo boredom.

No denying, they are a good band. I don't really listen to this kind of music, but they sold me on their last album. Better than 1% of metal, but that's all I'm willing to admit.

Fucking hell, I've been trying to shield my ears and eyes from having to find out about the Brit Awards, but there's just no way to avoid their pestilence.
