At first I enjoyed Volcano but other than Black Lava that album is basically heavy rock music. Signing to roadrunner means they will only drifit futher into rock. I'll always like their first 3 albums(especially Dark Medieval Times), and rebel extravaganza was ok, but I have no interest in them anymore.

"Their progressive and creative outlook has enabled SATYRICON to push the boundaries of the black metal genre, setting a new standard and developing the field beyond its traditional parameters. As a result, SATYRICON are now one of the most respected and influential bands in black metal"

I like Volcano, Black Lava being the worst track. And I got this news, hooray!

Volcano had a few tracks i liked ( fuel for the hatred was pretty decent imo) but for the most part it was sub par.

I generaly consider volcano to be a deviation from their normaly quality releases and hoped that they would go back to releaseing good albums. Roadrunners involvement though does alot to dampen my hope.

Volcano has its place; when my brain is a little tired and I need to listen to something non-challenging. Gorgoroth - Pentagram is in the same category.

Volcano was ok, just very inconsistent. Rebel Extravaganza ruled, I hope they'll do something in that fashion.

Volcano was boring. The next one will be even worse.

In truth, we're deluding ourselves. Volcano was a piece of shit that couldn't make up its mind if it was black metal, or commercial rock, and so each side spat on it. I predict the new one will be worse...

Ummmm, it's just a distrobution deal. Moonfog is and forever will be the actual label (it's Satyr's). This just gets the album into backwoods places like where I live. So the Roadrunner will make them "sell-out" shit is nonsense. You have to be signed to a label for that to happen, not being distibuted by it.

Of course it is a sign that Satyricon's next album will have absolutely nothing to do with pre-Rebel Extravaganza material; I wasn't expecting Dark Medieval Times II anyway.
