Funny that I've never actually posted my thoughts on this album despite having listened to it several times (still have yet to buy it, though). It's about what you'd expect from BR. Fast-paced two minute bursts of pop-punk with "smart-guy" lyrics and Greg Graffin's brutally honest takes on just about every major socio-political issue going on today. Not that this is at all a bad thing, but it's pretty clear that in terms of innovation Bad Religion has been pretty much maxed out. Their whole style of music just isn't very open to experimentation.

Nope. But they do what they do very well, and far better than most. At least they keep it original. There's not many songs of theirs that I find myself thinking of other songs of theirs. The structure and ingredients are the same, but they all taste a little different. You can't really ask for more at this point.

It's still funny seeing them on stage at their age. Haha.

New Pennywise is coming out soon, too! :dio:

I will say that there really aren't too many bands that sound exactly like Bad Religion. Almost every mainstream punk band has tried to imitate them in one way or another, but none have ever really duplicated them. But hey, how many other punk bands can claim to have a bandmember (let alone lead vocalist) with a PhD? :)

One thing about Greg Graffin that I find interesting is that, even though he's thought to be an atheist, he really seems more like a doubtful agnostic to me. In a lot of his interviews, he says that when he dies, if he confronts God, he'll definitely believe. But as it stands, there isn't really enough evidence out there for him to believe. In other words, he doesn't believe in God, but he admits that he may be wrong about his disbelief. Isn't an atheist technically supposed to flat-out reject the concept of God? Or perhaps the line between atheism and agnosticism is a little more blurred than most people realize?

Actually, Bad Religion's bandmembers aren't any older than Slayer's, Metallica's, Megadeth's, etc. I think Greg Graffin and Brett Gurewitz were only about 15 or 16 when they first formed the band almost thirty years ago.
