I've always (well, recently) meant to check out some of the earlier 'snake records where they apparently rocked pretty hard. I've only ever heard the glossy pop stuff, which doesn't interest me at all.

Suggestions?

Live in the Heart of the City. Coverdale, John Lord, Ian Paice, and Mickey Moody, need I say anything more?

Get Ready and Willing, Saints and Sinners and Slide it in. I don't like the live album that much.

Slide it In has John Sykes on Guitar.

I didn't care for Saints and Sinners all that much. Too much Rock and Roll Angels and Dancing Girls for me.

Slide it In is pretty good, but it is a decidely "American" Whitesnake, something many Euros have expressed a dislike for. Depends on what Whitesnake sound he's looking for I guess. The more bluesly "English" snake or the more raunchy "American" snake. Eithier way, Slip of the Tongue sucks.

There is an American and European edition of Slide It In with different producing done for each. Slide It In is where I'd start for the classic song "Slow an' Easy".
