Who do you think is the best rock artist of all-time?

I think Meat Loaf and Bon Jovi go pretty side by side. However, since Meat released Bat out of Hell III last year that was a very good album and then has completed an amazing trilogy, I got to vote for him. Bon Jovi was really great in the 80s, however, unfortunately his later efforts mostly consists of sleazy ballads even though there are still some real gems there to be found.

Easy as pie. In terms of quality musicianship, pushing boundaries, lasting legacy, and commercial success, Led Zeppelin rules over all.

Jethro Tull and King Crimson are the only 70s rock bands I like so I'll vote for them.

I'd be inclined to chose them over anyone, even the Who.

I probably like Pink Floyd/King Crimson just as much if not more than Zeppelin, but I wouldn't offer them up as greatest rock band, because I see their legacies as different.

Some of those classic 70s album I still love giving a listen to.

Hmm, Tony Conrad did a lot of good stuff for minimalism and drone in rock, with The Velvet Underground. Then ofcourse there is the guys from Faust, but King Crimson and Magma are awesome too, same goes for Hawkwind. There is just too many more!!

Edit, Can is important too, hail German krautrock!!

It's tough to argue against Zeppelin or The Who, both worthy choices.

I've always liked Traffic as well.

Queen is my favorite :dio: :dio: I wish all gay men could sing like Mercury or Halford.

Bon Jovi? Ahead of Led Zeppelin?

Hmm, for me there are several up there that I wouldn't like to rank. In "classic" terms my favourites are Meat Loaf, Thin Lizzy, Aerosmith and of course Led Zeppelin who probably take the title of "best".

In more recent times the Wildhearts are pretty high up for me. Maybe personally my favourite, although probably not the best.

Too many to name. But AC/DC is one of my absolute favorites. Ditto to Queen, Aerosmith, and yes Ted Nugent (who, 27 years ago, was probably the most technical guitarist in all of rock/metal other than Van Halen). I'm also a big fan of Billy Joel, who can be credited with bringing a sense of cynicism and brutal honesty into rock music.

Hmm, I think Gary Moore, Blue Öyster Cult and Skid Row would make up my top 3. :)

Pink Floyd are up there too though. Ac/Dc and Def Leppard are almost there.

Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are pretty much the only rock I still listen to anymore. I think I prefer Pink Floyd...

I used to be a big fan of AC/DC, but as of recent I found that I can't really stand to listen to them.
