Guns N Roses' "Chinese Democracy" is now odds on to his records shops in 2007 after the band's label admitted this week they were none the wiser to a November release schedule, reports Soundgenerator.

Axl Rose had recently revealed his intention to get the $15m, ten-year-old project onto the shelves before the end of the year, and a press release for the Chinese Democracy Tour at the beginning of October 2006 also stated that "there are only 13 Tuesdays left between now and the end of the year" - dropping a hint that the album would be released on a Tuesday between October 3rd and December 19th.


However, it looks near impossible that the album will be released in time for Christmas as the band's label, Universal Records, claimed this week that they had yet to received any information regarding a release date. With a likely four to six week turnaround required from GNR's management delivering the masterwork (not to mentioned publicity and promotion) it looks extremely unlikely the set will drop now until February, with January a traditional dead-zone for big new albums.

In other news, a new live DVD is in the pipeline for February. "Guns 'N' Roses - Live In Chicago" will be released on February 5th 2007 (we're sure of that), and was recorded at Chicago's Allstate Arena.

Now there's a surprise...

Hopefully this will be good after ten years of recording.

I honestly wasn't surprised, but honestly, come on Axl release the fucking thing! Doesn't matter if it's crap, just cut out with the bullshit!!!

This album needs NO promotion. If it just showed up in record shops tomorrow word would spread so fast it would sell 2 million by Tuesday!

Axl feels insecure, so he's having fun being an asshole.

I've heard the demos, I'm not really impressed.

Demos are demos. No one even knows if those demos will be on the album. I've heard so many demos of different styles that they can't all be on the album.

What's going to be released first, Chinese Democracy or Duke Nukem Forever ?

Slash was the mainsongwriter for GnR and I suppose Axl has some big difficulties writing some similar killermaterial by himself. I guess Axl has no good material and therefore he do not want to release anything at all.

Maybe he just on purpose delays the release since he think that it would sell then even better when everybody has been dying to get their hands on a new Gnr?

Is buckethead still recording with him? If so that will make it worth buying. That guy leans to the ridiculous side.

Buckethead as in Thanatopsis and Praxis and Avant label Buckethead? Wtf would would someone like him have to do with Guns N Roses?

Jolly good! He shouldn't be in such a silly group as GnR anyways.

15 million dollars?! This album would have trouble breaking even in a pre-download world...poor Axl.
