Recently gotten into Early Scorpions, Deep Purple and Rainbow, while also getting more into Cream and Led Zeppelin. Sadly I don't know much about pre 80's music, so if you could maybe recommend some bands, which have a similar sound that would be great. (More so to the first 3 bands)

I'm not an expert on any of them though just a casual listener.
If you like the scorpions and want something that sounds from the 80's but it ain't try Twilightning's Plague House Puppet Show.

Bonfire always remind me 80's Scorpions.
Alcatrazz, MSG are obvious choices. The first two MSG albums (both called MSG) are great.
Tesla & early Kingdom Come join 80's glam with Led Zep.
For old band that sound similar to Led Zeppellin, Captain Beyond and Sir Lord Baltimore come to mind.

Dude the first two MSG albums are called Micheal Shencker Group, they didn't change the name to MSG until Peter McCauley joined on vocals in the mid 80's. Anyways get freaking Assault Attack it rocks. You should probably check out Samson and early Whitesnake as well (Ready and Willing, Saints and Sinners). Def get Riot - Narita and Fire Down Under too.

Yes, I agree that Michael Schenker Group was the official name (and McCauley-Schenker group was the official name too), but M.S.G. was a common acronym for both bands, as the logo of the band says. So it's usual to call the band the both ways, as acronym or with full name...

For the other side, whitesnake & Riot are excellent recomendations, I agree with them.

In a different style, give a try to Thin Lizzy & early Rush (specially 2112), and Gary Moore pre-blues period.

Kingdom Come is a damn good band from that time. It's blatant Led Zeppelin worship, but they pull it off.

You may also like House of Lords.

Bonfire ftw! They are the band that proves European hard rockin metal will always beat the hell out of the U.S. output (flame, flame!).

But I think what you're looking for is more 70's rock oriented than heavy metal, so try the first Black Sabbath albums with Ozzy (yuk!-Dio/Martin fan here) on vocals. Make sure you check out early Whitesnake, Van Halen, Kiss, Ac/Dc and other mega beasts of the era.
