8 years since the last release, and 11 years since the last GOOD release.

So the question is ... do you miss Van Halen?

I do. Very much.

Yes...Very...Well, I wish they recorded a new album, but I don't believe it. Eddie wants to seek the new singer through somekind of fuckin' casting, and it sucks :/

No. I thought they were the most overated of the group of 80s rock bands. I am in the minority, but i thought the rockers were avg and they were really poor at ballads. At least compared to similar bands in that vein.

Can't say I've listened to too much Van Halen but from what I have heard I'm not that impressed. Maybe I just haven't heard their good stuff. On any account, Jump is the most annoying song ever.

Man the first album is one of the greats, but I don't miss them.

I don't miss them. Fuck 'em is what I say. I lost respect for them after the album with Gary Cherone. Cherone is ten times the better vocalist than DLR and Hagar combined, yet he somehow became the scapegoat for that album tanking, and Eddie perpetuated it. Fuck that.

They have some killer tunes, though. No doubt.

VH II, Women and Children First, Fair Warning and 1984 are all better than the first album, imo. Balance, FUCK and 5150 are also very good.

Yes I would. This is one of the bands that transitioned my taste of music to a more "metal" appeal. "PANAMA!! Duh duh duh duh duh nanana Duh duh duh duh duh PANAMA!!"

Great bass player, btw, one of my favorites.

I like the DLR era stuff, and some songs from the Van hagar era, but I have not cared since FUCK, so no not really. They started putting out ballless AOR stuff after that. Eddie is still one of the best soloists ever though.

That album tanked because of Eddie, and the other albums rule because of Eddie. He's my favourite guitar player of all time, but I agree he really seems to have problems dealing with people. Ask Sammy about it
:)

Yeah but it was a horrid album, I am sure not all Cherones fault (even though extreme is horrible) but being a good singer doesn't make an album good, you have to get it. Roth and Sammy can't sing for shit but they "get" how to make good hard rock. I was always a Hagar guy anyways, Montrose, his solo shit and his stuff with VH I like. Van Halen 1 and Women and Childrent first are def worth anyone owning then, lisiten to 1 and realize it is from 78 or 79 and how fucking ahead of the time they were.......

Just heard a few of their stuff and never had a liking for them. One of the gayest bands ever. Eddie is a good guitarist, no doubt. But the shit they come up with.....shit. Jump.....i get you man (referring to the guy who said Jump annoyed him). It's the gayest song I heard so far.

Well, I miss a lot Van Halen... the Van Halen that played VH I & II. Women & Child first & Fair Warning are good albums, but not as great as the first two. The rest... well, is from mediocre to horrible.
