Anyone into them? Just got their s/t 1989 debut album...this is extremely fun shit! Think Bon Jovi meets Def Leppard-at-their-cheesiest-and-fluffiest; not that much of an original sound, but the songwriting is far more consistently good/catchy than say Pretty Boy Floyd, or even the far more popular Winger for that matter (not counting 1993 release 'Pull', which is excellent all around). Great catchy keyboard work, gang choruses and a great punchy drum sound. Can't really go wrong with lyrics such as these either: "I can't believe all the noise you're makin' Am I really that good or are you just fakin' Feels so good, deep inside It's like a non-stop rocket rollercoaster ride" The vocals are a bit on the weak side and if you're really deep into the genre like me the whole unoriginality factor may get a little annoying, but overall it's a thoroughly solid piece for true fans of the style. Not exactly the most obscure thing ever though, so I'm basically just checking around for fellow appreciators of it. Not many places on the internet I know where you can discuss glam rock on, by the way. :( |

Excellent band! Definitely one of the better more-underground bands from the 80s. Mike reviewed Ted Poley's solo album a while back. |

Again, I really don't think of Ted Poley as that great of a singer (at least on the first D2), but I'll definitely check that solo album out still. |

![]() Yeah the highlights for me would be that, Under the Gun and Bang Bang (this chorus is so badly stuck in my head ATM, someone send help!!). Checked out the clip from the Ted Poley solo Eyesore posted on the corresponding discussion topic, it's very cool stuff and vocally I hear a clear improvement from first D2 album. Updated and tougher sound certainly but still with a definite 80's feel to it and the keyboards are still there to an extent! ![]() Anyways, as for checking out their other stuff - do I simply go chronologically from here as usual or is there anything of theirs I should avoid? |

Naughty Naughty good. Screw It bad. Funfact: Megadeth's Jeff Young tried out for them, but was rejected for being too heavy. |

Like a lot of 80's bands that continued on, I'd say sample before you buy. |
