Indeed. I think Queen are overrated on the whole, but this song rules! A metal update needs to be done! =)

Queen (up until News Of The World) is actually (to me) quite underrated,
A Night At THe Opera is on helluvan album.

Queen is my favourite non metal band, and this is the second best best non metal song (behind the Prophet's Song). Completely awesome in every way.

If a metal band were to do a cover if this they better have their shit together. If you blew a cover of this song there would be a lot of pissed off people. But if you did it right it could kick unbelievable amounts of ass. One band that comes to mind that i coud see doing this is Edguy. Maybe Blind Guardian also  .

I love this song. I always take great delight in re-enacting that scene from Wayne's World.

That is such a great cinematic scene, isn't it?? Hahahaha! The first time I'd ever heard this song was in that scene!! =) I pissed my pants in the theater when I saw that because I had no idea it got heavy! It cracked me up. I seriously remember laughing so hard I could not breath when they started headbanging.

Classic!!

I'd say that this song was just a tad overrated, but still great fun. It always shows up on those "Best Songs of All Time" shows and articles, usually at number one, which makes me wonder if the whole world has forgotten the entire prog rock movement.

The solo slays though, that is a beautiful piece of music indeed.

Yeah, I've always thought I could hear a Freddie Mercury influence in Hansi's voice... If anyone could do it I'd say it's them. But yeah, it's a big risk taking on such a song like that. I think it's better left alone, to be honest.

Indeed a killer song from a killer band. I admit I'm not really into Queen, but I've never heard a song from them I haven't liked, as far as I can remember.

Queen II is the epitiome of early stages of "happy" power metal and a classic no doubt. The first two Queen albums are immaculate even in its rawness. I dont see how this band can be considered overated for their time. If they are overated what in the fuck is the deal with Led Zep and Robert Plant???
IN comparison I say Zep overated way before Queen :)

Props to Mercury because his "soft" emotional side made for great ballads and emotion. Queen lost it about the time they allowed electronics to take over into the albums.
Early Queen is astonishing

Hey, Queen is the first band I ever got into. That right there gives me a soft spot for their music. I even liked some of their more synth pop influenced songs like A Kind of Magic and Radio Ga Ga. And yes, Bohemian Rhapsody is definitely one of the greatest rock songs ever recorded. It would've been a great song for a Monty Python soundtrack.

By the way, has anybody heard Helloween's cover of Sheer Heart Attack? If so, is it any good?

Heavy metal in general owes a lot to Queen. The Prophets Song is one of the heaviest songs of the 70's. They were doing power metal before anyone else. Even in the 90's when they did Innuendo. If anyone has heard that song they know that it has a power metal solo section. Totally awesome. THis band is one of the all time greats.
