Post subject:  1980's Glam/Rock - List your own party mix

When it comes down to warm summer days in front of the BBQ with a few beers or going on a road trip with a bunch of nutters, the best possible party music is Glam rock/metal from the 1980's/early 1990's.

After all how can you fail to enjoy listening to tunes that are generally about women and partying?

Here's my list for summer good times:

AC/DC - Thunderstruck
AC/DC - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
AC/DC - Shook Me All Night Long

(Not Glam but being Aussies we used to crank it at BBQs and parties)

Alice Cooper - Poison

Guns N Roses - Welcome To The Jungle
Guns N Roses - You Could Be Mine
Guns N Roses - Paradise City

KISS - Rock N Roll All Nite
KISS - Detroit Rock City
KISS - I Was Made For Loving

Motley Crue - Dr Feelgood
Motely Crue - Girls, Girls, Girls
Motely Crue - Kickstart My Heart
Motley Crue - Smoking In The Boys Room

Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
Ozzy Osbourne - Bark At The Moon

Quiet Riot - Cum on Feel the Noize

Skidrow - Youth Gone Wild
Skidrow - Sweet Little Sister

Screaming Jets - Better

Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It
Twisted Sister - I Wanna Rock

Ugly Kid Joe - Everything About You

Van Halen - Hot For Teacher

Warrant - Cherry Pie

Here's some of my favorites:

Riot - Maryanne (should have been a huge hit)
Kix - Girl Money

These are two of the best of the era easily. Very underrated songs that would have produced gold records if the labels would have pushed the records a bit harder. Riot's album could have gone multiplatinum if they would have pushed "Little Miss Death" as the first (rockin) single "Runaway" as the ballad and finally "Maryanne" as that third single that blows up and makes people take them seriously after the success of the ballad. The band was trying to push the awful song "killer" with JLT on Vocals and it did not work, naturally.

The greatest Skid Row song ever:

Forever.

I don't remember if the demo is from 1988 or 1998, the font was hard to read. It is on the 40 seasons compilation.

All these songs you guys list are great. For me tho, I could go with Enuff Znuff debut album (all songs) 1989 , just at the tale end of the era (which in turn/timing was the ultimate downfall for these guys, along with personality issues) and there 3rd album "strength" a glam rock classic that for this list was released in 1991 so maybe it does not count?

Imho, some 70s music is so influential to what was to happen in the 80s that I had to include it. :P
