Wow. Nick Cave's first album I believe? The Birthday Party pre-Birthday Party. It's amazing. It lacks the eccentric nature of BP and Cave's later stuff and it sounds much more straightforward. It's post-punk a la The Damned's Phantasmagoria with one full punk track in Roman Roman. I'm loving it much more than the Birthday Party stuff I've heard which makes me think I should restart from the beginning of their catalog. |
