Anyone else disagree with the reviews they got on this site? I like these two albums tremendously when I'm in for something light, and I think the reviewers here failed to see the point in these albums. |

I really enjoyed A Fine Day to Exit, A Natural Disaster on the other hand I thought was pretty medicore. Both are infinitely better than Katatonia's last two borefests, though. |

I agree on all points. |

I haven't heard all of A Find Day to Exit, the songs I did hear were cool though. A Natural Disaster I have only listened to once, a few of the songs jumped out at me and a few didn't. The title track and Closer (that's the one with the distorted vocals, right?) are great songs. |

I'm glad you guys have also reached the maturity not to bash this band for its inability to be confined by the whiny presets of their first couple of albums. I find it strange when people call Anathema sell-outs - when did they sell out, I wonder? Would it be the ballad Far Away on Eternity? The rebelliously short Empty on Alternative 4? Or the entire excellent-yet-not-doomy-in-length-at-all Judgement album? Do tell me. |

I actually liked their first few albums. And I never thought of them as sell-outs. |

I love all of their albums and own every one. Eternity is shit though, to much Floyd wanky shit for me, Evereve's Stormbirds is in the same vein but better. |

Great band any way you look at it; but I fault no one for finding their latest stuff boring. It's definitely something you need to be in the right mood for, not exactly what you'd call "any time" music. |

I should probably have pointed out that A Natural Disaster can't touch Eternity and Alternative 4, those albums are amazing. I haven't actually heard either of the Doom full-lengths, but I have that compilation of Pentecost III and Crestfallen, which is pretty cool. |

Yes, Travis Smith is a rare talent. I prefer his work on Opeth's Deliverance/Damnation albums, though. That mood is spot on. |

Agreed. There are a lot of very, very talented graphic artists out there, but Travis is very unique among them. |

Its a very cool cover, every time I see it I pause to think "...what?" Anyways, I listened to it again at a friend's house last night. Cool album, but I definitely prefer their mid-era stuff. |

A Natural Disaster is great mood music; it can be incredibly tiresome to listen to at the inappropriate moment, but when it clicks... oh man... A Fine Day To Exit, I don't see what's the problem with that one; I could only fault it for being not quite up to par with Judgement, but hey, what is? |
