I recently received a promo of their first album "The DeathShip Has A New Captain" and after two spins i knew i had to find this album. TVB are a german gothic metal band with heavy, thick sound and deep Beseech-like vocals. Lyrics are all about horror movies and they help create a very ominous atmosphere in the songs, which i find very cool. One of the songs is called Elizabeth Dane (hint:The Fog) and is instrumental and it totally kick ass. One of the members was in Empyrium for anyone that knows this band. Their second album isn't as haunting as the debut. I urge you to give it a try.

Official website:The Vision Bleak

the only sample I could find (it's actually one of the weakest songs on the album but there aren't any other samples):
The Vision Bleak - Lone Night Rider.mp3

and the video:

I've listened most of your top 15 already and while I wasn't looking for new gothic music i got this for free so i gave it a chance. It turned out quite good, nothing spectacular but surprisingly good enough. Like i said their second album is too basic for me, too many gothic cliches and i've ditched that kind of music years ago. Besides, your post doens't suggest you've heard of this band.

Sorry 'bout that, i was being sarcastic. Ken is right...we need more music discussion and less shit-talk around here.

As expected, the interest toward gothic metal is.....non-existing. Hopefully when someone post a thread about the new Sirenia album it doesn't remain as empty as this.

Btw I just find out MR actually did a review of The Deathship Has A New Captain and it's very accurate.

Sure I have or I wouldn't post about it...... Besides it isn't that new anyways and it isn't that good. Anyways, outside of Sirenia and a few others I think all Gothic Metal post 2001 is all shit anyways so I am not the best to ask.

Just get Skelton Skeltron form Tiamat and be happy.

On that even I can agree. Except for a select few (Silentium, Mortal Love and Sirenia) all else is boring at best. Oh yeah and Soul's Highway was 2002. I guess i'll check Tiamat then.

The lines
Wolfmoon, wolfmoon, burning bright
In the forest of the night

Sound a bit too much like the lines from a William Blake poem about the tiger:
Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forest of the night

I hope I don't have to explain the correspondence.
