CANDLEMASS vocalist Messiah Marcolin contacted BLABBERMOUTH.NET today (April 28th) to reveal that he has left the Swedish doomsters and that it's 100 percent definite that he will not return. "We could not agree on how to do the new album," he said, but would not further elaborate on his sudden departure.

Darn. Although I dloaded EDM the other day and liked it (not loved, sorry Liz!), so he's not ESSENTIAL to the band. Now, if Leif (sp?) left... :(

As someone who just got into Candlemass and only has the latest album - I'll say "meh" While I didn’t hate the vocals, I really felt like the songs could have benefited from someone more Danzig-ish.... like the guy from Grand Magus for example. I’m sure if I had more of a background with this band, I'd feel different (as I usually hate singer changes).

Best part of that article is Leif saying the new stuff will be like the self-titled, but darker. Woot!
