So Opeth and Katatonia are gonna be in my city on September 28. I know everything about Opeth but nothing about Katatonia. Where should I start? What's their best album? |

Brave Murder Day is the classic doom/death album. The Great Cold Distance is their new rock sound. Others on the boards really like their newest album Night is the New Day or whatever but it didn't grab me. |

Dance of December Souls was excellent, as was Brave Murder Day. They won't be playing anything from those albums however. Of their rock sound, I favored Discouraged Ones and Last Fair Deal Gone Down. |

Both very talented bands but in the end I like Katatonia a whole lot better. it funny to see who did the growls on Brave murder day and then see these two touring together, i wonder if they will play any songs off that album because that would be a real treat. |

Check out their last 3, that's what they will be playing. Personally, I like Viva Emptiness the best. You will enjoy the show, their music is quite hypnotic. |

Alright cool. It looks like I have a lot of stuff to check out. Definitely don't want to go into the show cold... I should have an Evo 3D by the might of the show, so I should have some nice pics / videos. |

Night Is The New Day is my favorite from them so far, but definately check out The Great Could Distance. That one's a great entry point, and is almost as good. ![]() |

The Great Cold Distance is basically Viva Emptiness II so given the choice I favor Viva Emptiness, but both are great albums. Other than that i'd sugest you to listen to Last Fair Deal Gone Down and Tonight's Decision, two awesome albums that are almost never mentionned but should always be. top albums 1. Viva Emptiness 2. Last Fair Deal Gone Down 3. Tonight's Decision In my opinion Night is the new day, The Great Cold Distance and discouraged ones are all good and on par with Tonight's Decision put Viva and LFDGD are slightly better. I'ts pretty hard to go wrong with any of these. |

So what happened at this show, anyway, metaladd? Curious what, if anything they played from Last Fair Deal Gone Down or Discouraged Ones. |
