I need some help. I've been obsessed with Anathema for the past year. I think it is impossible to get sick of these guys, however I don't want to risk it. I need some bands that are similar... of their last few albums.

My Dying Bride's The Dreadful Hours will change your life. And Virgin Black's Fortissimo.

My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, and Katatonia are the obvious ones.
Swallow the Sun, Novembre, Daylight Dies, October Tide, Saturnus, Draconian, and Novembers Doom are some of the less obvious but still good bands.
Not many of them are as consistently laid back as recent Anathema, but they are all very good regardless.

This guy knows the way to ebd's heart.

Sadly, however, Metalness asked about similarities to the most recent Anathema albums, so I agree with Antimatter or (half-joking) Coldplay.

Yeah, so far Antimatter is the only thing similar to recent Anathema... from bands I haven't heard.

Thanks for the recommendations all.

No, I'd say from Alternative 4 maybe Eternity on.
