The genres I listen to the most would be classic heavy metal, prog, and power metal. I've listed to a few doom bands/songs, and I'm wondering which Doom bands are worth checking out that use atmospheric keys/chants? They don't need to be overbearing, in the background is fine.

Three great bands that might be what your're looking for:

Novembers Doom - Pale Haunt Departure or The Novella Reservoir
Novembre - The Blue
Daylight Dies - Dismantling Devotion or Lost to The Living
Sins Of Thy Beloved - Lake Of Sorrow

Although They aren't pure doom, They all have elements your looking for.
