Sabbath Bloody Sabbath should be way higher, and Ahab's Call of the Wretched Sea, while good, doesn't deserve the number 18 spot.

yeah agreed about Ahab actually. Also Buried At Sea - Migration should be on there... it's quickly becoming one of my favourite doom albums.

the list is from metal-archives poll btw...

Saturnus - Paradise bellongs to you is way better than veronica decides to die in my oppinion.
I too do not think that Agalloch should be considered doom.
Shades of from Shape of Despair should be on the list and Illusion's play removed.

^^ Not Doom

A pretty good list overall, I like to see diSEMBOWELMENT and Winter getting some love.

One thing that really jumps out at me is that Quietus, arguably Evoken's best, is the only one of their albums not included on the list.

I also would have liked to see Umbra Nihil and Dragonauta on there, as well as Boris' doomiest album Amplifier Worship.

Doom seems like such a nebulous genre to me that it's impossible to have a top 100 albums. Black Sabbath, Nortt and Sunn O))) all in the same list?

Master of Reality is an odd choice, it's probably the least Doomy album of the Ozzy era.

Yeah, I think it is getting more of the vote as "Best Sabbath Album" than it is on its doom quality. It's a good album, but you're right, it doesn't really belong at #1 on this list.

I would bet that the self-titled or Paranoid had more influence on the likes Candlemass, St. Vitus, and others.

What in the world is Neurosis doing on the list? Since when were they ever remotely doom metal?

I'm glad to see Khanate and Catacombs on there, but where the fuck is Tyranny?!

They're influenced by Black Sabbath, play slow, have awesome riffs and are depressing... that meets doom requirements imo. They should be higher though =)

What a bizarre choice for Sunn O))). I'd have expected to see Black One in there. Nice to see the collaboration with Boris in there, even though only a third is really drone.

Pagan Altar Should have been on the top 10, all three of their albums actually, and IMO Electric wizard is rated waay to high on that list i mean i do like dopethrone but the 4th best doom album? i think not.

This is a metal-archives best of list. Guess that explains why it's like 40% non-doom bands.

Hell yeah! Pagan Altar kicks ass, but not many know much about them so it's not that surprising to see them left off, unjust as it may be.

As far as Dopethrone is concerned, I think you're seeing the same thing. It's probably rated that high due to its popularity more than anything else. I would probably stick in the 10-20 range somewhere. It's all opinion though. I mean, as shocked as I am that Transcendence Into the Peripheral got the #6 slot, it absolutely deserves it. It's quite possibly the greatest doomdeath album ever recorded. That's the most redeeming quality of these "lists" is that they open discussion.
