It's not that I don't like it, it's a great song. It's just that it sounds, to me, totally out of place in the middle of Altar. I've always felt that a drone album shouldn't have any extreme stylistic or tempo changes. I like when the songs flow together and send you into a sort of trance. I settled into this point after the first two songs, and then the whole atmosphere was snapped by The Sinking Belle. It should have been at the end of the album, in my opinion.

EDIT: Now everyone who likes it needs to rate it to offset Radical Cut's bullshit rating of 7 :lame: :D

Ill give it 80 plus.

I see what you meant about the whole hypnotic thing. Though maybe they just wanted to wake you up, make sure you dont fall asleep

I still think its hypnotic in itself, and quite beautiful. It may have to go into that "Come out of the closet" thread.

Soprano I believe, Young is a very fast player. Track 2 and 3 are best, more emotion. You can hear Tony Conrad and John Cale on violin and viola drones underneath, you might know Cale of the Velvet Underground, which he later joined and pioneered. I believe he left after the second album, Conrad went into visual art, making weird films.

Did anyone recommend the new outstanding Orthodox album? Those guys rocked with last year Gran Poder, but the new stuff is far way better. Lots of jazz, Coltranesque sax and dooooooooom! Check it out! :)
