As for this band, I'm willing to bet that with he departure of Ben Moody that your comment about them will be correct (except for the AOR part, which makes little sense). I don't imagine this next album to be like the last. I think it will try to be, but regardless of how popular the last album was, the band was more than just radio-friendly for the sake of being so.

I have all their early demos and unreleased material because I still have friends in Little Rock and they were a legit band. Shit, I used to hang with Rocky Gray (the drummer) when he played in Shredded Corpse and Fleshcompressor, two death metal bands. He worked at Camelot Music and shit, then he joined Living Sacrifice and then Evanescence. I should have kept in contact with him. Hahaha. Fallen wouldn't have broken the charts without the label and the brilliant (?) idea of putting the guy from 12 Stones on "Bring Me To Life." I have like three versions of the song without him on vocals and the song doesn't suffer one bit, but that is what garnered the radio attention because he sounded Mike from Linkin Park (hence all the lame "they're Linkin Park with female vocals" comments). Regardless, they were a legit band that paid their dues.

Whether or not that is still the case, I wouldn't bet money on it.

Yeah she can sing, but no talent to write songs or if she does (I don't own her uber KVLT demos) she chooses not to in favor of selling albums and please a record label. Hey, no problem with that, everyone has to make a living but doesn't mean I have to like it.

"My Touriquet" was originally a death metal song. It's a Soul Embraced song, Rocky's other band, and Evanescence re-did it.

No. Their first demo came out around the same time I left Little Rock. I just got them because I knew people there. I've never met anyone else in Evanescence besides Rocky.

Wether it is Death Metal or not it is easily the best song on the album.
