i like Dommedagsnatt, good doom death

NO!!! Bad! Bad! BAD!! Slumber is good doomdeath!

Slumber is Goth Metal, so is Draconian. Somehow, somewhere along the way the true meaning of Goth Metal got peverted to include HIM, Goth Rock and any chick singing off key with guys in Pirate shirts. If you draw your Bloodlines straight back to Icon and Gothic or even newer stuff like In Velvet Darkness the Fear you play Gothic Metal. Not Doom/Death.

I woudl argue that Slumber and Draconian are still doomdeath. Descendents of My Dying Bride they both are, so I think the tag qualifies. Draconian, especially on the first album, have a quite a few gothic/melodic death influences. That album is MDB/Opeth/Tristania mixed all in one.

You guys are the Genre Masters on this site I will agree, but I just can't agree about Draconian, Beauty and the Beast with some doom influences equals true Gothic Metal IMO. Slumber, ok, maybe that one we can call Doom Death. But seriously I consider all of these direct decendents of early Paradise Lost, Anathema and MDB Gothic. Do you have the Gothic Doom Death Metal w/Fem vocals genre yet? ha ha. Of course I throw an absolute fit anytime I hear someone call bands like Nightwish or Edenbridge Gothic Metal too.

Keep up the good work on the site btw, I look foward to Mondays.

i'm a fan of the album, if you want nasty, gritty, heavy as fuck doom, you cant do much better. And yeah, she is hot.

Draconian, Slumber = Goth/Doom. U can only say its death because of the grunts. The melodies themselfs are more Goth than Doom but because the guitar riffs are heavyerand the music has slower passages than ordinary Goth i'll agree on the doom influences.
