any thoughts on them? I downloaded a song and some samples and am not impressed.

their one track album was a disappointment.... then the band changed into a psyche pop metal band and they're good, not excellent but good...

They've just got a new album out and it sounds AMAZING! I think you'd really like this, Stefan, with your prog-loving ways! Seriously, give it a try.

Dunno.... just bored me big time ! there are a few good ideas but kinda like stretched into a too long song.... imo, it could have been a nice 20 mn epic but nothing more ! :roll:

I actually really like their 60 minute epic "Light of Day, Day of Darkness", I mean it wasn't great to any stretch of the mind, but it was decent and I didn't get the urge to turn it off. On the other hand, I did download their new album "The Quiet Offspring" so I could see if it was worth buying at all and I think it is.. But it's not good enough to be in the top like 40-50 CDs I plan on getting. My favorite track from the new one is "Pile of Doubt" tis a good one.

Could some one tell me where the "metal" part of this band comes in... because i listened to like four of their songs and i heard no metal...

Well, I've only heard their 60 min one song opus andit has plenty of Metal moments... maybe the other albums don't....

not as much as the 60mn song but they do... they do do....

I own their first album 'journey to the end of night' and their latest 'the quiet offspring'. I simply love the first, definitely one of my most emotionally moving albums. TQO is a lot different, and not my cup of tea actually. It's still good, but it doesn't have the same sheer power to hold my interest.

I think it's fucking awesome!! Recently checked them out after hearing they feature some In The Woods... members.

I really like GC, all of their stuff. I'm supposed to be going to Toronto next weekend to see them, not sure if I'll have the cash though.

Light of Day is a great album. The newest one is total dire, just seems really boring to me.

Agreed, the new seems a lot more radiofriendly, which sucks.

Meh. I just don't get it. I think these guys are talented, but I guess it's just not my thing. Abruptum's "Vi Sonus Veris Nigrae Malitiaes" is a much better 60 minute epic.

Light of Day... was awesome. The other stuff isn't quite as good, but it still has it's moments. Blessing in Disguise was still pretty great I thought, but Quiet Offspring was a bit lame.
