Green Carnation are a doomy prog-hard rock band; Bethlehem have been everything from death metal to a bad rammstein clone, passing through respectable blackened doom inbetween..

a lot of those bands have goth-metal giveaway names and that precludes me from investigating them, haha. but the above two have their moments.

Ok lets see now what i know...

Dreams Of Sanity were a great gothic act once. It's female fronted and she has a great voice.I recommend you their last 2 albums Masquerade and The Game.Overall it's a steady band with more than decent songs.

Evereve - now these guys play (at least their last 2 albums) commercial gothic rock. Most people that has heard them will tell you that their first albums are the best before they sold-out, but I think E-Mania and Enetics aren't that bad. They resently put out another album Tried & Failed but I haven't heard it yet.
This is how I would rate their albums:
Stormbirds - 30/100
Regrets - 45/100
E-Mania - 65/100
Enetics - 69/100

Lastly my fav. Silentium. This band is awesome. They play very symphonic gothic metal with both male and female vocals. The diversity in their albums is staggering.Try their SI.VM E.T A.V.VM EP first - 100% recommended

As you know Trooper, I'm a huge lover of gothic metal with female vocals or both male/female vocals... the "beauty and the beast" style.
Since I have not even heard of the majority of your list, I'm guessing that the majority of the bands contain male vocals only.

I can help with a few of the bands:
Drastique - This is a band with mostly male vocals but a few female vocals. Musically, they're a blend of gothic metal and black metal.... since I'm not a huge fan of black metal, this band ended up being a bit too heavy for me and I passed on getting into them.
Their name at one point (not sure if in the past or currently) is/was Drastic I think.

Dreams Of Sanity - A now defunct band that released 3 CDs in the mid-to-late-90s. Featured 2 female vocalists I believe, maybe no male vocals??? Musically, somewhere in between rock and metal and was a bit too light for my tastes... I passed on getting their CDs a while back.

Trail Of Tears - I have this band. They have 4 CDs and the first 2 are symphonic/gothic metal CDs with "beauty and the beast" style vocals. Their last 2 contain only male vocals and are gothic metal, as the female vocalist left and created the symphonic/power metal band Imperia. Full-review for the Imperia CD is on the Metal CD Ratings website, as well as ratings for all the Trail of Tears CDs.

...hope this helps. 8)

Alastis: I own their Unity album. Really, it's average overall with two or three very good songs and several unmemorable ones. It's full of mid tempo MDB style dirge riffs, with some pleasantly accessible melodies coming thorugh from time to time. There's a little bit of experimentation there, but not really enough to make it that interesting. But they do have a nice big gothic doom sound with some fairly tasteful keyboards, which sounds great when they manage to put a big chorus in.

Of Green Carnation I own "Light of Day, Day of Darkness" and I have to say that this is a really great prog metal record. It has some beautiful melodic sections and some really great moments. The problem being the fact that it is just one 60 minute long track, which makes it very hard to listen to and concentrate on all the way through. (For me, at least... I really couldn't tell you what happens over the last 15 minutes or so  )

Clan Of Xymox - Industrial Goth Rock, not metal in the slightest but if you like Goth music you might like them..

Dreams Of Sanity - Great stuff, get the Game and Masquerade for sure.

Evereve - Anathema wannabees early on. Stormbirds sound just like Eternity from Anathema, now like said early piss poor goth rock.
l
Green Carnation - Light of Day and Blessing two of my fave albums, first one is doomy atmopheric stuff, 2nd is dark prog rock.

Throes Of Dawn - Pure Finnish melo death/blackenend vocals with a folkish feel. Reminds me of Insomnium.

Trail Of Tears - Also Helen has another solo project called Angel as well.

Thanks for the info so far, much appreciated. Trying to find soundclips and download a few of the tracks of the bands people have mentioned.
So far, i've liked Scream Silence. They sound like a mix between H.I.M and Entwine.
If anyone knows any of those bands to be only black metal, please let me know, cause (no offence to lovers of black metal) that genre is not my thing..

I don't think Bethlehem will catch your interests much.

Haven't listened to any one of them. Here are a couple more bands that I enjoyed if that would help.

Dawn Of Relic - One Night In Carcosa(Dark Metal)

Memory Garden - Mirage (Doom/Heavy Metal)

Thanks for that list though. Will check out those bands myself
