I've heard rumours that Sunn O))) will release Black2 this year, and that Nortt will be lending 'em a hand this time. Anyone know if this is true? I mean, Southern Lord is in contact with Nortt 'cause they released the Xasthur/Nortt split for example... so maybe it's true. I hope it is.

I should be in bed, but I just have to share.. this has leaked.

nevertheless I suspect this will be one that deserves to be purchased.

Nortt makes me sad.

Graven is awesome, but on first impressions I think I prefer what they do on the split with Xasthur that I just got hold of the other day. I'm a bit of a n00b to this kind of thing but I doubt I'll ever hear a band play blackened funeral doom as well as they do.

Let us hope that the rumours are true.

You have to be in a spesific mood I can't describe to enjoy Nortt. I hated it the first 5 times I listened to it but patience pays off I guess. Now I love it but at first it sounded like nothing was going on throughout the album. I can say the same thing for Velvet Cacoon - Genevieve.

For music like this and Genevieve, I basically have to be doing something else, such as reading or working. For that it is perfect.

Really? For me it is the exact opposite. I have to do nothing or all I hear is a constant noise that never changes. I usually listen so such albums while I'm in bed before I go to sleep.

Somehow I just can't sit there and do nothing except listen to music. Although I agree reading is not the optimal way to absorb the music, this just happens to be the least distracting form of music I have on my shelf, so it sort of gets in there by default. And the fact new ideas are typically introduced every few minutes makes it easy to concentrate on both at once. Now reading while listening to Dragonforce, therein lies a challenge.

I agree with Kath here, I do the exact same thing. In fact, Genevieve is one of my fav albums for my daily "before sleep music session".

I have started doing this (listening to creepy BM before sleeping). It is wonderful.

I don't think I like Nortt, but I'll keep trying. Nortt has failed to produce the immediate impact on me compared to say, Abyssic Hate.

Excellent band.

Although I haven't given this album a listen yet, I'm sure it will be up to standard with the rest of his stuff.
