Just wanted to hear the opinions of the community about Two Hunters. Slightly superior to Diadem of Twelve Stars, great black metal art :dio: , much better than latest Xasthur :lame:

Saw it on Aquarius Records. Gave the samples a listen, but I don't remember anything about 'em...

As for Xasthur's latest, I didn't even know it was out. What's wrong with it?

Saw them live a couple nights ago with Melechesh and Inquisition. Great guys to talk and hang with as well.

I really can't imagine a band like that playing live. How were they?

Well, the drums were a little dominitating on the whole sound which was obviously a sound problem. Nonetheless a great show with an intensely majestic atmosphere.

Being honest, I've only listened to Xasthur's Defective Epitaph three times, but it fails to recreate that dense, opressive atmosphere so characteristic of Malefic. Other Xasthur's albums grabbed me since the first listen. I'll listen to it other four or five times and then I'll make my final veredict

Melechesh and Inquisition... Woods of Ypres and Drudkh would be a lot better :dio:

Frankly, Inquisition wasn't my cup of tea, but I enjoyed Melechesh very much so. Since I was a long time fan of the band before. Drudkh would be fuckin' amazing live so would WOY be.

So he actually made some sort of progression? Or did he just fuck up?

Zero progression. Maybe that's what is annoying me... The cover is pretty cool thought

Bah. Malefic could do so much with that sound...

I gave those samples another listen, and I especially liked Cleansing (the one with the female vocals). Very trance-inducing, even for a one minute sample. I'm definitely gonna get this.

I can't get into the black metal parts of this album at all... on Diadem they had like interesting riffs and stuff but now it seems like they're just doing the lame "lets make a bunch of guitar noise and blastbeats"

I didn't think Xasthur ever progressed. Subliminal Genocide sounded like one long song, any variety this time out?

After sampling the whole album, I fail to understand what the problem is. This sounds WAY better than Subliminal Genocide (and other past albums), and it DOES sound like a progression. Call me crazy, but some parts really remind me of Isis.
