I've just bought this album and noticed many people have been panning it. Quite frankly, I have no idea why. Okay, so Randy Blythe actually uses "cleaner" vocals in some songs (sounding almost like Phil Anselmo). Quite frankly, I'm glad to see him FINALLY mixing his vocals up a little bit. The songs are also probably among the band's most intricate and well-written. Despite how brutally negative/pessimistic the lyrics are.

A definite hit. I love everything about it. My favorite is still New American Gospel though.

Actually, I'd venture to guess LOG is just another one of those bands that fell victim to their own success. Because they're now on regular MTV rotation and actually topping the Billboard 200, it's no longer "cool" for metal fans to like them. Even though the fact that they're a good band is actually a big part of the reason why they're where they are right now in the first place. I'll bet that if they were an "underground" metal band the way they were on New American Gospel, they probably wouldn't have nearly as many detractors.

Definite hit.

Foresaking the awful Redneck, the rest of the album is pretty good, and a step up from Ashes of the Wake, which I also like.

I'll have to give this a spin. All I've heard was Redneck, which as Adam said was awful, but if the rest of the album is pretty good I'll have to try. Unfortunately the show they're playing here with Heaven And Hell and Iced Earth is sold out, which is a shame, as that's three bands I'd quite like to see.

Haven't actually got around to it yet, but loved the couple of songs that I heard (including Redneck :P) so Hit.

I love Redneck. Why do you guys hate it? Because it sounds too much like Pantera or something?

It's probably my second favorite after Pathetic.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. They open it up with the supremely badass Walk With Me in Hell, and then spoil the momentum with a shitty Pantera impression. If I wanted to hear that crap, I would've just picked up the latest Superjoint Ritual CD. Just my opinion, though.

I heard the last song on that album and it was totally bitchin. If that's any indication to how the rest of the CD is, then it's definately a hit.

It's got a really irritating chorus. I should probably know more LOG, I only really know that, Laid To Rest :dio: and Black Label.

Haven't listened to the album enough to vote. Listened to it a couple of times and I wouldn't say it is a miss. Walk With Me In Hell starts off beautifully. Rise is good. Redneck is a kinda fun track. Don't remember much of the other songs.

Blacken the Cursed Sun was the only song I actually liked and maybe Walk with Me in Hell. I really dislike LoG, too metalcore for me.

Edit: The first time I heard Redneck I thought he was saying 'infestation' instead of invitation. It made the song a lot more interesting but still cheesy.

Holy shit, that would have made the song a lot cooler.

Miss for me... I dont know I just find it really boring. I liked everything up to Ashes of the Wake, but this one just didn't seem tlo have the same intensity to me.

I never liked the song just if the lyrics called rednecks an infestation it would've been somewhat interesting.

Definitely a hit. Incredibly intense. Although AOTW is still my favourite album of theirs.
