Heavy Metal 'Satanists' Claim Attacks On Christian Sites - June 21, 2007 France's Expatica reports: A shadowy anti-religious group with links to heavy metal music has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on Christian sites in Brittany in northwest France, police said Thursday. Members of the group, which calls itself "True Armorik Black Metal", or TABM, describe themselves as "extremist and anti-ecclesiasticain a letter sent to local newspaper the Telegramme, which published excerpts on Thursday. "We are going to strike again, again and again," warned the letter, in which the group's acronym is scrawled in blood-red letters over the image of an inverted Christian cross. Police, who are hunting a group of Satanists they believe responsible for the attacks, said they were taking the letter seriously and had sent it for analysis by a specialised unit. Graffiti of the letters ABM was found at nine Christian sites desecrated in recent weeks. Police believe the letters signify Aryan Black Metal, a Satanist movement which has links to heavy metal music, paganism and far-right politics. Last weekend, the 16th-century Chapel of the Cross at Loqueffret near the remote tip of Brittany was gutted in a blaze, which left just the four walls standin. The doors of the chapel were forced open, and several original polychrome statues were destroyed. Eight other Christian shrines — six roadside granite crosses and two fountains — were torn down or smashed last month in an area of the Finistere department near the popular holiday resorts of Benodet and Concarneau. ![]() ![]() Sauce: Blabbermouth. |

It's always surprised me that France, of all places, has become the new Norway for black metal, in terms of music and violence. |

I'd rather have them funnel their hatred against mosques, as they have a place neither in the history, nor the landscape, nor the political climate of western europe. Anti-Christian sentiments are a bit outdated in that country since the Enlightenment and the revolution of 1798 in particular, and nowadays there's another aggressive religion pervading our lands. Just two cents from a patriottic historian with field experience. |

It would be fucking huge all around. Christians are pussies about this kind of thing, Muslims would be fun to watch after that. How in the middle east muslims attack other muslim mosques with bombs, killing those which their book names as their "brothers", destroying what is supposed to be their god's house, for the differences between the factions, and it's never a big deal, shows their hypocrisy as well. |

Burn down mosques AND churches. I just wish these fucking morons would leave out the far right wing politics. Goddammit, morons, Mussolini and Hitler were catholics, and fascism was promoted by the Church 70 years ago. Dammit! |

The problem is that Christianity (at least I believe this) has had a tremendous negative influence on the western world, just as Islam has had on the mid-eastern world. It can be morally correct by certain viewpoints to burn both churches and mosques. |

Although I don't give any factual weight to any of the stories in the bible (creation, jesus coming back to life, noah's ark, satan ![]() |

Quote: Why can't they just leave each other the fuck alone? As long as you aren't being forced to believe in something you don't, let the christians go to church and the metalheads go to their shows. I have no fucking clue what these fags are/were thinking. There are a lot of things about christianity I don't agree with, but I don't think burning down chruches/mosques will help anything. Imagine if some over-zealous religious dude got some of his friends and burned down your local metal club just cause he dodesn't really like heavy metal? The people who go to this church aren't going to think "hmm, this religion I've believed in since I was 5 years old is pretty flawed and weak compared to these black metal guys. I think I am going to submit my faith, go join them, and slap myself for how stupid I have been all this time." It's only going to make their faith in christianity stronger, their disdain for metal eve more bitter, and make the world a slightly worse place than it was in teh seconds before this crime was committed.

A person who lived entirely by the bible would kill homosexuals, women who act like men, and keep slaves. Christianity has had a tremendous negative impact on western society, for example the way sex is treated and has become a taboo. It's the reason the Church can get away with so much bullshit, because people have so much respect for it. Look, I don't want to sound like a violent extremist, but I really hate Christianity and think it should be eradicated. Good for me. Now go burn a church. |

but most christians don't live entirely by the bible, and if they don't tread on your toes i don't see why the hell they shouldn't be allowed to have their own beliefs. i'm not religious but moderate religion doesn't bother me the least bit. |

But the problem in my view isn't the Christians, but the religion, as a movement, and as an idea. An idea that has had a bad influence on the world. I mean, nazism and fascism is also an idea that we find harmful to the world, but in nazism pretty much every single nazi is also a fucktard. It's like, maybe america. America has a bad influence on the world, but that doesn't mean that every single american is a fucker, or incorporates those traits that exist in America and that make it such a piece of shit. |

It's the reason the Church can get away with so much bullshit, because people have so much respect for it. What part of the bible says homosexuality is wrong? Is it the "man shall not lie down with man" part? That isn't neccessarily sexual, and if it is, I guess they forgot you can have sex stanidng up. Where do the "women who act like men" and slavekeeping rear their heads in the bible?
Look, I don't want to sound like a violent extremist, but I really hate Christianity and think it should be eradicated. Good for me. Now go burn a church. Even if the bible does explicitly say to do these things, I just think it would disaprove of homosexuals, girly men, and free men. I don't think it ever says anywhere that they should be murdered. |

then Jesus said "let he who is without sin cast the first stone". So the Bible doesn't advocate punishing others for having different beliefs. |
