New Dodheimsgard (DHG, whatever), and new Mithras. Fans/thoughts?

My favourite thing of this year so far has been the new Taake, but that is an EP.

But yeah, the new DHG fills a gap for people that like the idea of industrial/bm fusion but that don't really like Axis of Perdition or Aborym especially. That's me btw.

I listened to that for the second time this morning. I really didnt like it. Where are the epic, melodic and melancholic riffs Taake are known for? Even Hoest's vocal performance seems lacking.

The new Darkestrah, Epos, is a ripper album.

There's supposed to be a new Elysian Blaze album later this year too, which should be good.

what's the new DHG like? 666 international, or the satanic art ep?

the former was indeed quite different from anything i had heard, but it wasn't my cup of tea. satanic art was pretty cool, though.

Heard atrack from the new Neurosis yesterday... nothing really revolutionary from them, I thought.

It doesn't sound too much like any of their previous stuff so I'm happy ;D, also if its Water is Not Enough its one of the less-good songs on the album.

I actually like that song, so I hope I agree with you once I listen to the whole thing.

Saw MMD supporting... umm Nile? or maybe Nasum... I think it was Nile.

Anyway, I agree, a cool band. Didn't even know they had an album out.

Deathspell Omega are also going to release a new album this year. I dare say it will be the album of the year for me.

From the Nuclear War Now! website:

"BLASPHEMY “Fallen Angel of Doom….” LP/CD Reissue
ANTI-GOTH 069

I am proud to officially announce the planned reissue of one of Black Metal’s most revered recordings, BLASPHEMY “Fallen Angel of Doom….” on both vinyl and CD formats. The vinyl version will come housed in high quality triple gatefold jacket with a thick booklet attached to the middle panel. The CD version will come with a 16 to 20 page booklet depending on what I can cram in those tiny booklets.

The CD version will go to press in May while the vinyl version with more complex layout might take a bit longer. I expect to have both out by late summer, early fall."

Do you have a source for this???

If it is true, I agree, it will be the top CD 2007.
