It's good, but they need to renew their sound, experiment a little more... It sounds too much like their other songs. |

I find it quite different from their latest stuff. Sure, it's still the trademark DT sound, but there are differences: the riffs are even more melodic this time, the keybords give a spacy feel, there is less heaviness, the song has more room to breathe. It seems more laid back to me... even though the song is fast. I quite like this direction, I now realise I longed for music like this. |

If this is indicative of the album I will be very happy, it could be their best album since Projector. Stanne sounds like he did on much older albums: both raspier and more in the back of the mix. The emphasis on heaviness that was so prevalent the past couple albums seems replaced by speed and melody, again referencing an older trait of the band. Heck, the track before the keys come in could have been on The Mind's Eye. Looks promising. |

Exactly. This song is different from those on Character and Damage Done, especially with the prominent keyboard work. And this album hasn't leaked, in case anyone is looking for it. |

The Ghost of Eyesore wrote: noodles wrote: It was ok. Why was it just OK, O' Great One of Immeaurable Musical Knowledge? The song is good but sounds like it could fit in with Character easily, and Mikael Stanne is still using the same chorus he's used on almost every song for the last 2 albums. |

I understand your chorus criticism but most of the song sounds more like The Mind's I period. |

Definitely liked it. Hopefully this will be another Character instead of a Damage Done. |

So...you want it to be a great album instead of a great album? I agree. ![]() |

I love you. Nah, Damage Done is all right. However, I don't think that it deserves too much praise; it does seem fairly run of the mill and uninspired to me, though worth a listen every once in a while. |

Hahah, I used to be obsessed with DT, but then I heard Character. At first I was like, "This is the shizz!" But, then it wore thin, because it was catchy, but in the kind of way that familiarizes you with the ENTIRE album in a very small number of spins. Also, it felt watered down, and I'm all death metal, but I still held a spot in my heart for DT... I did. I was all, "I'm gunna listen to Damage Done, that'll cheer me up... that album was the shizz!!!" But, it wasn't. Not even close to as good as I'd remembered. I'm not really that big of a DT fan, anymore. I like Dimension Zero. ![]() |
