I am so happy Illogicist got signed. One of the few Italian bands i really love with Gory Blister.
And i am not familiar with Odious Mortem so i guess i should check them out!

I haven't seen these posted yet so I thought I'd take the liberty...... Willowtip is extremely happy to announce the signing of Santa Cruz , CA ’s technical death metal outfit, ODIOUS MORTEM . Consisting of members Anthony Trapani (CARNIVOROUS) on vocals, Joel Horner on bass, Dan Eggers on guitar, and KC Howard (DECREPIT BIRTH) on drums, ODIOUS MORTEM will enter Castle Ultimate Studios ( Oakland , CA ) with Zack Ohren this month to record their Willowtip debut, Cryptic Implosion . Made up of 11 tracks, one of which will feature a guest guitar solo by Ron Jarzombek (SPASTIC INK, WATCHTOWER), Cryptic Implosion can be seen as a natural, mature progression from the band’s previous release, 2005’s Devouring The Prophecy , on Unique Leader Records. The band comments on the signing: “We are honored to say that we are now part of Willowtip Records, a label that represents progressive metal of many styles”. Cryptic Implosion will be released in early 2007. Demo recordings of “The Endless Regression of Mind” and “Domain of the Eternal Paradox” can be found at ODIOUS MORTEM ’s official MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/odiousmortem And secondly, WILLOWTIP is proud to announce the signing of Italy ’s ILLOGICIST . Formed in 1997, “ ILLOGICIST is a violent sonic combination of technical ability, rhythmic asymmetry, melodic sickness, and lyrical frustration, created to reflect a dynamic and emotional vision of suffering and introspection”. The band is set to enter Aosta , Italy ’s Dissonant Studio (owned by ILLOGICIST guitarist/vocalist Luca Minieri) in January 2007 to record their 2nd overall full-length and first for Willowtip, The Insight Eye. Joining ILLOGICIST in the recording of The Insight Eye will be the “legend of extreme drumming” Marco Minneman . The album will contain 9 tracks of ILLOGICIST ’s style of violent, progressive death metal . Both of these bands are good,definitely worth a look.I personally am really anticipating Odious Mortem's new cd,and they got Pär Olofsson (SPAWN OF POSSESSION, PSYCROPTIC) to do the artwork.His work is powerful to say the least,I really find his pieces fascinating.I also look forward to seeing where Illogicist goes with their sophomore effort,their first was good,but didn't captivate me.I'll go give it a listen or two again. |
