I heard these guys's newest album because their drummer/guitarist are in Between the Buried and Me now. Their sound was something I didn't expect because A Desperate Man's Diary is a lot less flamboyantly technical or melodic as most metalcore bands. There's a pretty big black metal/90s death metal thing going on with their sound, as well as even a bit of Meshuggah, but they tie all their influences together perfectly. And their guitar solos have sexy tone and variety.

Think of it as like, the polar opposite of Job for a Cowboy ^______^

Its quite different from their first album, it seems like they cut back on the complexity in favour of songwriting/atmosphere. It also had the huge benefit of making it much more original too.

I could only get the "Too Scared to Live..." song to play. Its pretty cool, although the breakdown was pretty superfluous and rubbish.
