I heard of these guys because the guitarist from Behold the Arctopus does a guest solo on one of their songs (The Ascetic Ponders). Nice brutal/technical stuff that fans of Gorguts, Morbid Angel, Cryptopsy, Augury or Spawn of Possession or whatever should check out. Hmm it's not too bad. It doesn't seem to have a whole lot of time changeups or anything though compared to stuff like Gorguts or Behold... |

Yeah true, but I just like to hear a tech metal band that plays complex music without getting lost in ridiculously fast blastbeats like Spawn of Possession or whatever do. Keep in mind that Astomatous's only release so far is essentially a glorified demo

i didn't like what i heard (Absurd and The Prophecy is Forgotten). then again i was never much a fan of this genre. |
