I see. So, something you haven't heard, will be better than something you... haven't heard.

Err...

Great fucking album. I doubt this will ever be topped, since it annhilated the new Anata which was also fucking awesome.

What's the "ultimate" Tech-Death album for you, Dan? How much further can the genre go? :?

Ah, that's a fucking hard question, probably the most impressive tech-death albums i ever listened to are:
PAVOR-Furioso
Theory In Practice-Colonizing The Sun
Gorguts-Obscura (this probably being the most innovative technical metal album i ever listened.)
Demilich-Nespithe
Sleep Terror-everything this guy has released
Beneath The Massacre-Evidence of Inequity
The new Spawn of Possession and the previous ones are also massive, as well as Severed Savior-Brutality is law

I am still doing a lot of research since the genre is much bigger than what i thought.
Lots of shitty bands all over the place though.

I listened to a couple songs off their new album on myspace. Sounded pretty cool.

Tech death is weird for me because I don't really have any favourite bands in the genre, just a bunch I know of as good, like Martyr (probably my favourite if I had to choose one), Death, Spawn of Possession, Theory in Practice, Beneath the Massacre, Pavor, !T.O.O.H! (or whatever their name is), Necrophagist and such. I never got into Cynic, Atheist or Gorguts though =/
