![]() Album due out August 23rd Tracklist 1. The Stench Of Redemption 2. Death To Jesus 3. Desecration 4. Homage For Satan 5. Never To Be Seen Again 6. The Lord's Sedition 7. Walk With The Devil In Dreams You Behold 8. Crucified For The Innocence 9. Not Of This Earth From what I've heard (Homage For Satan; Crucified For The Innocence), this is shaping up to be one of their most solid releases in years. Upon first listen, I noticed something odd...It didn't sound like Deicide at all. The lineup changes have definently made a difference in their sound, as it is much more faster, more punishing. The slow riffage-double kick fill-Benton vox formula is gone. To make a comparison, it sounds more in the vein of Vital Remains, with blistering drum sections, rapid-fire solos, and neck-breaking bass lines. Not to mention, the vox from Hell courtesy of Glen Benton. The more surprising change is the lyric style. Instead of the "cram your bible up your ass, Fuck your god and your faith , rawr rawr rawr" style, it's more akin to the days of Legion, where there is more occult content and actual sentences strung together. Granted, I've only heard two tracks, it still sounds miles better than their last 3 albums. The additions have fueled the sound change perfectly. As premature as it may sound to many, this could be the knockout DM album of 2006. You can also hear "Homage to Satan" on their myspace account, since that seems to be the rage here at mr.com as of late: http://www.myspace.com/thestenchofredemption |

The lineup is very strong, fucking Owen especially is a god. I think the Hoffman bro's leaving might have done good to deicide, they've been shit for years. If this is anything like Vital Remains then it's gonna kick ass. edit: The album's already on the internet btw, I'll hear it in a few and post my thoughts. |

Fuck yeah. Owen has always ruled, and his playing with Glenn's unholy screams will be godly. Bring it on. |
