http://www.theendrecords.com/forum/showthread.php?t=402 Not that I'm much of an Immortal fan, but this could be interesting if it is ever confirmed. Anyone else heard anything similar to this? I've seen the transcription printed a few other places as well... -Tyrion |

I was never a big fan but, cool, it would be nice to have a veteran back in the field. I wouldn't count on it though, "some German Magazine" isn't exactly a reliable source, and this is the 3rd time in 2 years that I've seen this "omg Immortals comeing back" thing so I'm not holding my breath. |

That would kick so much ass if they did. I mean, what the fuck are they doing with their retirement? Practicing their golf swings?! |

Heh heh. I heard from a source only slightly less reliable than "a German magazine" that they are, in fact, coming back. Still, a reunion would kick ass if it does end up happening. |

Well if Ishan came back, I don't see what's stopping Abath. Black Metal can't die, it simply reincarnates. |

Because commercialism and theatrics is apparently in the true spirit of black metal. Do not misunderstand me, I am only saying it is a bit of a paradox. |

I'm not holding my breath but, an Immortal reunion? Yes, please. |

first thing's first.....is this actually an original interview? it looks fabricated. abbtah seems a little bit to overexcited, like a kid with a burst of energy after a candy. well i'm not hoping much. after seeing dissection screw up, and many a few other come backs producing crap, i think i'll be happier with them retired. |

It's hard to look at it in that kind of context though because it's an interview from a German magazine that someone translated. Who knows, even if there is a reunion actually in the works, how good a translation was done. If so, I find it to be interesting timing. Dissection, Emperor (sort of), Burzum (maybe), ... and now Immortal? I wonder if it's just coincidence or if there's any of that, "hey, they're doing it, why not us too?" kind of thing. -Tyrion |

Even Archives says they're back together. I predict Sons Of Northern Darkness part 2... |

Well considering how Emperor has yet to return, Mayhem has an album that has been coming out for close to 2 years, Enslaved & Satyricon sucking, and Dimmu Borgir dominating the playlists, an Immortal return is MORE than welcome. |

Funny you mentioned Satyricon sucking, I'm playing a track from "Sons Of Northern Darkness" right now, and, well, you can see where Satyr got his inspiration from. This is actually good, though, unlike Now, Bloody Boringal. |

Enslaved dont suck these days... :? And at least Mayhem has Attila again. And @ Tyrion - Well, you cant say Burzum is maybe reuniting, Varg was in prison! Its not like he had a choice! |

I don't know how you can conclude that Enslaved "sucks" now either. |

I'm just not feeling the progression on Ruun right now. Especially since I loved Monumension and Mardruam so much. I don't know how much of an influence Sons of Northern Darkness had on Satyricon's latest sound, since it began degenerating on Rebel Extravaganza, 2 full years before Sons was recorded. |

Hmmm, it's arguable that Rebel Extravaganza's actually the last good album they made. You can see the parallels, though. |
