I once again was listening to Thrash Assault today and decided that these guys kick ass.

If you only like cleaned up million dollar studio production. These guys aren't for you. I really don't know who to compare them to at this time, but if you like raw dirty thrash, these are the guys for you! At least that's what I would say.

Are they the same type of Thrash as Exodus with the girlish rough voices? I'm not very much a fan of that.

Exodus has girlish voices? wtf? Exodus fucking kill you.

But no, the vocals are pretty harsh.

I don't know. I can't stand the harsh high vocal singing. I prefer a straight up growl or scream. But I do promise to try out Sauron.

Girlish, WTF? Listening quickly over anything Exodus has ever done by either Paul, Steve, or Rob and no girlish sounds to be found anywhere.

I was exaggerating when I said girlish, but I don't really enjoy just the harsh singing. I prefer either singing or screaming, not a combination.

They are super evil thrash/real black metal who've drawn influence from both the German and South American thrash/real black metal scenes. There's something about Sauron's approach that's unique, though, I still can't put my finger on it. Awesome songwriting, though, through and through, it's a great place to start if you are looking for more violent thrash. They do what they do, and do it a lot more than well.

PS: The vox are diabolical. You'll love em.

Sounds like you dont deserve Sauron anyway

Great band, my fav modern thrash band at the moment. Recently got the CD and playin it everyday ! They thrash with the best of them, which is a rarity these days...

Anybody heard their latest EP titled Satanic Assasins ?

While doing a search for Sauron at my local cd store I came across a cd called For A Dead Race by a band called Sauron, is it the same band?

If I'm not mistaken, Holy_Terror's brother is in Sauron, and another is in Harbringer. But I'm not sure.
