"A dead poem" was one of my first ever metal albums, I listened to it night and day back then. But when "Sleep of the Angels" came out I was really dissapointed, and never really cared for them since.

I've heard Non Serviam. It's alright, not great as ADP.

I've never been so keen on this band, but they're ok. I simply fail to agree with all the kvlt masses that claim that the band's golden age was in their early days (Non Serviam is ok, but Thy Mighty Contract is absurdly overrated).
Triarchy Of Lost Lovers and A Dead Poem are probably the ones I enjoy the most, though haven't heard the last couple of albums yet (Kronos and Sanctus Diavolos, if my memory doesn't fail me).

I have never checked them out. Their name has always repelled me. Not that a band can be judged by their name, but it just seemed like an indicator of something I don't like, while at the same time there has never been a lack of alternatives.. Seems like I should check out A Dead Poem..

Yes, i think i had better check that out too. Non Serviam is ok, its like thrashy BM or something, with no real dark atmosphere that i hear when i listen to it. its quite odd.

I like their old stuff (up to and including Non Serviam). The newer stuff is ok, just a bit too pretty for my tastes.

Pretty?

There's nothing pretty about Rotting Christ. I'm a massive fan, Have all their albums and the DVD they have. Rotting Christ is a combination of Dark/Black Metal with an essence of beautiful melody. A Dead Poem, Triarchy of The Lost Lovers, Khronos and Genesis are among their better releases. Their latest offering, Sanctus Diavolos was very good as well. The older stuff has a grind/Black Metal feel to them but still good.

Have you heard "Thy Mighty Contract" or "Satanas Tedeum", their Demo?

I've heard Thy Mighty Contract, and it definitely has a major death metal influence, but i don't really hear much grind there.

Well, yes and I did not say it is all Grind but just an influence. As The Death/Black Metal part is Dominant!

I see n gind in Non Serviam and Passage to Arcturo, but a lot of thrash, and a very, very odd atmosphere, thats not exactly dark, but makes me imagine the band playing in the clouds, or on a tropical island very far away.

Yes, Thy Mighty Contract is the album I'm talking about.

RC put out good to great albums all their carrer, up to Kronos. After that it seems to go downhill. Genesis is not that strong (though it does have the kick ass song Legion on it) and Sanctus Diavolos is extremely boring. I hope the next one is better.
