not that I particularly like them, but Pan.Thy.Monium certainly play that style. i'd also be willing to say that Lykathea blah blah were progressive rather than technical but everyone on the planet already likes them! ![]() |

I'll admit listening to them the 1st and 2nd time was fun, but then I realized how 'catchy' and 'worldly' they were trying to sound, and how heartless the music felt after the initial enjoyment. The mixer is the most technical member of the band. A well intended suggestion, but overrated none the less. |

Misanthrope, A french Symphonic Avant-garde Death Metal band, not exactly the thing you're looking for but worthy music nontheless (if you don't mind a lot of keys, which I did a little! http://shopping.theendrecords.com/s.nl/ ... category=7 ). Another excellent band that I got their latest effort, Luciferion which you might already know of them (Black/Death Metal with a lot of atmosphere, not progressive though! http://www.metal-observer.com/articles. ... =1&id=2716). Obsidian, a Progressive Death Metal from the Netherlands, http://www.obsidian.nu/frame.asp?sound=no |

Thanks Define i already know Luciferion (good stuff) but ill check out the other suggestions, ill especially keep an eye on Obsidian. Oh and about Lykathea Aflame.. Well i definetely do not like it as much as i first listened to them. They are kind of straight forward for my likings, and not really that technical as liz said, more like progressive brutal melodic death metal. |

Psychotogen, their 2003 release had some worldly elements to it that I was even able to enjoy... Aside from that, just solid, solid, solid tech death. |

Well prog death has nothing to do with tech death, it's a complete different style. |
