I just cannot stop listening to this band. I got introduced to it about three years ago with their "Likferd" album and ended up getting all their albums in less than a month. The excellent and fascinating song writing the beautiful melodies and the atmosphere they create is just beyond this world. My favorite album is really hard to pick because I am just in awe of all their masterpieces. I would be glad to hear your Bloody opinions

Hail The Might of Windir and Valfar (R.I.P)

Cheers!

They were a great band. It is a shame to lose them. That new product is just not the same withoout the frontman and songwriter. Vried? I think was the name of it?

Yes, it is awful to lose such a great musician. No Vried isn't the same but I still do like them.

hmm.. i like Arntor quite alot... 1184 is also one of my favourite... there's also some sadness to the album since Valfar imo predicted his early death, at least he sings about it... :D

my favourites are without daubt "Svartesmeden Og Lundamyrstrollet" followed by Arntor  .. so good!

"1184" is my favorite with "Arntor" a reasonably close second. I have yet to get "Soknardalr", however. I had no idea there was a dvd out there; when was the footage taken and what's on it?

It was on Sep 3, 2004, in Remembrance of Valfar the Great (A Night of Sognametal)

First of all they perform the songs as exact as they do in studio albums which is very hard to do considering their guitar work is very complex. Second of all it isn't just the live performance; it has a lot of off stage footage of the guys and dude they're sometimes really funny! And then we have an interview with Valfar (R.I.P) which was all in Norwegian. Well if you are a Windir fan and a strong one you will have a good idea what is going on (Visuals, pictures, music background). Other than that, different footages of Windir performing in different places although poor sound quality; it didn't really matter at all because it was pretty suprising to see them perform on a lot of other stages.

Altogether, one Fuckin' wicked DVD
