Which modern thrash band do you think will lead revival of the thrash assault of the 80's?

Kings Evil
Sauron
Toxic Holocaust
Municipal Waste
Biomechanical

...are all candidates off the top of my head. Please, feel free to include others. Personally, after hearing Sauron's first full length, I can't really pick another. But, then again, that's me.

I think Sauron and Bywar can both spearhead the re-birth if it happens, which I unfortunately doubt. Both are definitely 80s, and they're both of incredible quality. The day I found Bywar's Invincible War and Sauron's Thrash Assault in second hand stores was indeed a happy day for me.

Oops. Forgot Bywar. Ah well. Good thing you mentioned them. I think Sauron is of the highest quality. They just surge through the room, and force excitement into me. With a band like that in existence, there is no doubt in my mind that a wave of their type will follow, though in a more subtle way than before.

HAHA! I was going to post something similar. I wish it wasn't true however.

Thrash is dead only to MTV fans.

Italy's Vexed, Aussie's Gospel Of The Horns would have my votes. Sauron's probably the best though haa.....

Ok, but that isn't what the poll is about.

You will occasionally come across a new band that plays some old school type of thrash, but it's never going to be the same.

Good thrash bands... they'll be remembered for preserving the scene, if you ask me. Do you think I was foolish to include Biomechanical on this list? They really don't represent the 80's wave, but maybe the rebirth of thrash as a foremost genre in metal?

A couple years ago Kerrang! was awesome! A weekly music mag? Fuck yeah. I've heard it's gone downhill lately, though.

Old school thrash is dead. A few bands (Municipal Waste, Suicide Watch) may play that sort of style now, doesn't make it alive. The future's in progression. Like biomechanical. Who I voted for.

Btw i have listened to 1 song by Sauron and found them pretty good.
But i prefer Aura Noir for that style.

I went ahead and voted Kings Evil. Pretty rooted in the old school thrash. In fact i thought it was untill I saw 1999 on the back of the cd. I really have not heard much from the other bands

Sauron are great, so there I voted-Biomechanical are nothing to do with thrash, in my opinion. And I'm sad to say that there will be no new thrash revival.

I'm surrounded by prophets and time travellers. Sucks, because I was really hoping thrash was going to come back with the old fury...

Wait, fuck that. Thrash already IS coming back to it's old form. Sauron, Kings Evil, Toxic Holocaust... Plus, more and more people are tunnelling through the mounds of past full lengths. Way I see it, thrash will come back to it's glory, but more in a BM kind of way. It just needs to influence the youth more. If these forums are any indication of 80's thrash love, I think it has a chance, cuz a lot of us knew SHIT about the good stuff til we came here.
