I've been meaning to check this band out ever since I saw their new album, the cover intrigued me. Anyway, so I go to their website today and listen to the four songs from their debut EP and I'm extremely impressed, it's like melodic death metal/melodic thrash or something similar, but with mostly clean vocals. It's wicked fucking good. Taken from the Forthcoming Addiction EP: WICKED MASK WINTER PRINCESS CRUCIFIXION FALLEN ANGEL This band features members of Carpathian Forest, Green Carnation and Trail of Tears so at this point I'm very impressed. So, I go and seek out samples from their new album...ugh...what happened?? Now they're simply melodic death metal with no apparent deviation, none of the dynamics that they had on the EP—at least the clips suggest so—even the newer version of "Crucifixion" has melodic death metal-like vocals instead of all clean vocals like before. Well, I agree that they're nothing special, but that EP sounds really good. The CD sounds typical. |
