Hypocrisy/Decapitated/Nile/Raging Speedhorn/Soilent Green/With Passion

With Passion: cool guitar, shitty vocals.

Raging Speedhorn: No, just no.

Decapitated: Holy fucking shit, their new singer is a fucking beast, jesus i've never heard anyone growl that low. Only played like 5 songs though. :\

Hypocrisy: Once again proved to me why they're the best live band ever!

Nile: I don't understand why people call their live show boring, I mean I don't think it was as good as Decapitated's or Hypocrisy's but it was still VERY good.

Soilent Green: BLS meets death metal, pretty good.

Wasn't there a big fuss here a couple of months back with people saying Decapitated had appointed a "core" vocalist? I seem to remember a bit of disappointment about it...

Well, I suppose Husker's account suggests that this isn't the case, which is cool.

yeah that's what people said, and on the cd you can hear a tad bit of "core" in the vocals. But live, well it's a different story.

The vocalist seems to be improving with time, unfortunately that means his performance on cd will probably be not-so-great.

Anyway, I'm going to this show on Monday, should be cool.

Indeed. I was thinking that after posting, and obviously Metal has won this battle.

Ha, I've learned more outside of the classroom than in, if you know what I mean. School teaches us to be good productive drones, which, of course is a necessity if you want to be self-sufficient... usually.

If anything, I find that it is the simple reality of work that inspires dronedom, while the education system encourages independant thinking. Or at least the education system in which I passed through.

Perhaps in college, which is higher learning beyond the three R's.
I suppose it dependes on what you're majoring in

Agreed, it seems College tends to encourage critical and independant thinking, but that sure as hell isn't the case with elementary and high school. Mandatory education is certainly a lesson in conformity.

I'm talking about high school.

It also depends on what teachers you are lucky (or unlucky) to get. I was lucky to get some who really enjoyed inspiring others.. and like to challenge us by playing devil's advocate. I realize this doesn't happen everywhere especially where the curriculum is controlled by those with agendas.

I had a few teachers that actually made things very interesting, though they are few and far between.
Some people are born to teach... and don't get me wrong, I value education very highly, but life is its own form of indispensible education as well.
