I'm thinking of buying ReliXIV and/or Killbox 13 sometime. Recommended?

Do NOT buy ReliXIV. Buy Killbox 13 and forget that ReliXIV exists at all.

If you are a big Overkill fan and want to complete the collection, then try to find them 2nd hand

Just buy Killbox 13- a very good album. Relix IV has two good songs, so if you find it for VERY cheap, then I guess buy it.

Have listened to just Killbox and that's a very good album. It stayed in my player for days right from the very first listen. Not something common with most albums I pick up.

You seem pretty open-minded, so get them both. I liked them both. No, it's not Thrash, nor is it classic Kill, but they're still good albums. Killbox 13 is the better of the two.

No, never!!!!!1 BOTH of those albums SUCK so BAD!!!!1 They are the worst pieces of shite that Overkill has ever released (yes, I Hear Black is twice as good as any of these)!

Since couple of their later albums I have wished they would have just disbanded coz they obviously can't pull out a decent album anymore  What they put out is still metal yes, and they haven't soldout, but it's just BORING, unimaginitive and un-ripping as hell!
But I believe I actually know a reason for this: for a long time it's been just Verni and Ellsworth doing ALL the songs. Back in '94 when they still had kickass guitar team, I think they were participating in the songwriting as well (or that's what I like to believe...) The point is: because of this "closed" writing team the input of fresh, exciting ideas is ZERO! They'd need to include other members' writing skills too! :?

And this comes from over 10 years of being a fan.

I agree, but it comes from only say 6 months as a fan in my case. :( Necroshine is the best of the 'new' Overkill albums that i've heard.

Here I disagree a bit: I remember From the Underground and Below having many good, moshable songs. Though I don't remember how solid the album was nor how many bad(?) songs there were...

Necroshine I do remember being relatively solid and better than the crap afterwards, but that's about it...

I know, it's been quite a while since I listened to the Overkill back catalogue (or any other of my older acquaintances) but I have gazillion CDs to listen to...

If Killbox is worse than From Underground, than i'llstay away from it? BTW how is The Killing Kind, compared to the other albums?

Uh, Killbox 13 is very much the same "quality" as ReliXIV, meaning A LOT worse than FTUAB!!! The Killing Kind was the beginning of the end, and to me my most hated Overkill album for years  ...until now of course :D Actually The Killing Kind has some "actual moments" making it not as bad as the recent two abominations. But it's still the 3rd worst!

I say this: after getting totally slayed with W.F.O., The Killing Kind was like getting Loaded with Metallica... :(

(*and if someone didn't get my twist of words: I meant the change in style and sound)
