A heavy metal icon passed away:

Let's all commemorate him by listing our favorite albums/songs (if any).

My favorites are Vulgar Display Of Power, Cowboys From Hell, and Great Southern Trendkill (in that order, by the way). My two favorite songs are Regular People (Conceit) and Drag The Waters. But pretty much all the songs on these three albums (except may be Clash With Reality off Cowboys...) are great.

As for the other two (Far Beyond Driven and Reinventing The Steel), they're good but not nearly as good as the aforementioned three.

I have never heard the earlier glam albums so I can't comment on them.

Power Metal was ok. Other than that, Pantera sucked. Damageplan were worse.

Dimebag talent was wasted in bad bands... What a shame...

Undoubtedly, he was a truly great guitarist. One of the best soloists aroung in metal- by far the best in his area of it.

A very talented guitarist (I saw him live a few days before he died, and though I dislike Pantera and loathe Damageplan, his playing was completely great), and a very shitty way to go. Rest in peace, man.

His guitar playing is awesome, sadly none of the bands he was in are really enjoyable.

Cowboys from Hell was one of the first albums I bought when it was released in 1990. It totally blew me away and I still like it. Vulgar also was amazing but CfH will always remain a classic. RIP Diamond, your playing will live on in our hearts.

RIP. Cowboys... is my only Pantera record, and I plan to keep it that way, but a good guitarist, anyway.

R.I.P. Dimebag. Such a shame it had to end this way.
