Now, I know In Flames sucks, they haven't done anything worthwhile since Colony, Come Clarity is a shitty name, their new album is going to be crap like STYE, Anders is a cry baby, Ferret records is a shitty label and they're sell-outs. Now that i got about 80% of most replies to In Flames posts out of the way, i was wondering if anybody has seen the DVD. I am going to get it wednesday, but was wondering how it was I am probably going to like it and all, but what do you think? ciao |

I'm pretty much in the same boat as Marco here, though I'd include Clayman in the list of enjoyable releases. Nobody can offer their insights on what the dvd is like? |

I've seen the tracklisting, and I would like to ask anyone if they know why In Flames thought we needed to hear the entire Soundtrack album live. Anybody? There also seems to be some earlier songs played live, but for how much it costs and the amount of crap on it, just buy The Jester Race and Lunar Strain and you'll be set. |

I agree with Brahm. I'd just steer clear of it altogether. |

Well it looks like everyone has just assumed its crap and so nobody has actually grabbed it. I can't say I'm suprised tho. |

I just picked up the 2CD/2DVD for $19.99. That's damn cheap. I like the new In Flames stuff, though. I haven't watched/listened to any of it, though. I literally just bought it. ![]() |

I've owned the DVD since it first came out and although I am not a big fan of their newer stuff, it certainly sounds alot better live. All the crappy emo songs from Soundtrack are played my heavier live which was definatly better. Plenty of features and the set of their old stuff is killer, I would recommend it to anyone who likes any era of In Flames as it covers all of them. |

Borders And Shading You Took a knife and carve it in Want to see your faults As a part of your pretty skin Everyone has a tragedy I want you to wear yours in pain It was songs like that which almost made me not bother with the DVD, thankfully it was better than STYE. |

No, I would not say that is emo at all. Lyrics define emo now? How is this any different: Behold the heart of mine in flames A top the highest mountain Below the darkest depths In the walley of hate I wander My frost bitten heart is set ablaze, set ablaze or this? Shame marries the guilt introduces itself to the concept of total loneliness Sensations repressed make friends with Suicidia, and and here the leeches begin to suck away the lust for life Sure, In Flames have changed, they're not Lunar Strain-era In Flames anymore, but then again, Whoracle-era In Flames was different, as well. This band has progressed album to album their whole career. They're not traditional melodic death metal anymore, but they're definitely not emo, not metalcore, or nu-metal. Those are gross characterizations of the band now. They still are more closely related to melodic death metal than anything else. Personally, I think this band is excellent. I would like more solos, but I can handle the clean vocals, the catchy choruses, and the more groove-oriented style of music. As long as they don't suck, I can't complain. Bands change. It's natural, sometimes it's not, but most of the time it is. What can you do? Complain all day? Pffft! Not all fans can handle change, though. Shit, there are many favorites bands of mine that I would freak out over if they changed styles. Still, I'll always try and give a band a chance, In Flames are one of those bands, like Soilwork, who've managed to win me over with their new direction. Some bands—like Metallica and Motley Crue—haven't. |
