Post subject: New Music Download: Slaves For Scores (**Broken Up**)
PostPosted: Thu Sep 01, 2005 5:14 pm
Hey guys, my friend's band is about to release their new CD, Inertia, and I'm looking to hook them up with some press. I want to send out their last EP for review. I'll include a bunch of demos from the recording sessions of the new album, too.

I'd review the CD, and I most likely will, but I'm clearly biased, so I'd like to get some outside press for them. I think they kick all kinds of ass, and they're definitely on their way to being signed. Ralph Santolla is going to record a new demo for them when the drummer's foot heals (he broke it).

Anyway, here are some samples:

Slaves For Scores - Spreading (Demo) (Stream) or Download
Slaves For Scores - Inertia (Demo) (Stream) or Download
Slaves For Scores - Indoctrinate The Flames (Demo) (Stream)
Slaves For Scores - Lifescapes (Demo) (Stream)
Slaves For Scores - Blood Soaked Angel (Demo) (Stream) or Download

^^^ Demos from the Inertia sessions.

Slaves For Scores - Hell Inside (Stream) or Download
Slaves For Scores - Delta/Zeta (Stream)
Slaves For Scores - Veins (Stream) or Download
Slaves For Scores - Razorwrist (Stream) or Download

^^^ Taken from the Hell Inside EP.

If anyone here at Metal Reviews is interested in reviewing them, let me know. I encourage everyone to check them out. They're awesome!! And the drummer, Paul, my friend, is fucking amazing! Gene Hoglan amazing! Seriously.

Send a cd to

Stephanie Miller
WMHC 91.5 FM
Mount Holyoke College
Blanchard Student Center
South Hadley, MA 01075

It'll get reviewed and possibly put into rotation. I'll be sure to play it if it does.

Stephanie? Is that you? I can send it out to you. Do you DJ there? If so, what days/nights? I'm in Brockton, so I can probably pick it up. Send me a PM, no need to put your personal shit out on this in the open.

No, that's not me, that's our Loud MD. I'm a dj and the Traffic Director, which essentially means I sort the mail and control the PSAs. As for personal shit, it's not - that address is the same one on our website. We love getting new stuff.

EDIT: To answer your other question, I don't know what my hours are going to be this year yet. I'm hoping to get the same time slot as last year - Thursday nights from midnight to 2. I'll post something about my show when it gets finalized. We do a webcast, so everyone can listen if they like.

Cool, well I'll send you out a package and PM you when I do. I shouldn't take but a day to get there after I send it. I'm sure you'll like it!

OK, I don't want to be a pest, but did anyone listen to these songs yet? And is no one from this site interested in reviewing them, or do they just not read these things??

Sorry if I'm being annoying! :D

I just listened to them. I would have earlier, but I've had a weird computer situation all summer. As far as I'm concerned, they kick ass. I'll definately give 'em some airtime on my show.
Also, if they have any shows coming up, PM me with the info. We've got a special "upcoming shows" section in the PSAs.

Thanks for listening!! :D Maybe other people will now!

I will be sending that package out to you at the end of the week. Unfortunately they're not local to MA. They're actually based in Arizona. My friend is still in the Air Force and he's stationed out there. I would like for them to somehow be able to really tour, but he has a year left in service so they basically have to keep it somewhat local when doing shows. Sort of sucks.

Anyway, thanks for listening!!

not my thing. Sounds too reminiscent of the 90s for me. Sorry. I hear some Manson/tool influence etc.... I do like some of the guitar work, but just not something i would regularly listen too. Some songs implement that tough guy/angry thing during the bridges that deter me.
Songwriting is top notch tho i can tell.
The guitar player slays , especially on the track Inertia
No doubt they deserve to be signed and i can fully support them, just not appealing to my taste at the time, but maybe they could grown on me?
Will download the tracks and give them more spins :)
Tell them good luck and yeah maybe you can send some demos to the reviewers directly through their e-mails or just send the cd to the admin?

after further listenings this is tough to pigeonhole like i attempted previously. Not bad. I hear death/black.. power type solos and outros and alot of 90s Metallica Riffage in alot of songs, and a couple of songs had that tool/Manson industrial feel. Odd group of guys 4 sure.
Why did you just not like the site for people to stream from?

Awesome guitar player and great tunes. I think this guitar player is one of the better underground metal guitarists I have heard in a while.
Check out his site!

What the fuck?? Jason has a website?? HAHAHAHAHA! I had no idea! Hahaha! I need to visit Paul so I can meet the rest of the guys in the band!!

Anyway, I put the links here figuring that most people would be more inclined to listen to them if they just had to click a link here instead of going to the site and navigating there. I know that's not much work at all, but 2 seconds on a computer is a loooooooong time for some people!!! =)

I was almost shocked when you said they sounded like Manson and Tool. I was about to accuse you of not listening! Hahahaha! Anyway, what I think is great about this band is they've managed to mix a lot of different metal styles together and it works. The singer has that melodic death metal style, but the music is more of a traditional metal style. Then there's the acoustic interludes, the solos, etc. There's something unique about them even though what they're playing isn't necessarily anything new, you know?? Listen to the second solo in "Blood Soaked Angel," that's a fucking Dimebag solo right there!!

Thanks for listening!!

This is really awesome. I love the way they blended the clean vocals in.

I can't speak for Jaden, but I adore the way they did it on Lifescapes, that echo effect.
