...IT SUCKS! IT SUCKS WORSE THAN ANYTHING ELSE I'VE EVER HEARD. THEY COVERED BRITNEY SPEARS AND IT'S THE STUPIDEST THING EVER. WHAT WHERE THEY THINKING?

Sorry for the caps outburst. They've gone totally hard rock with keyboards. The leads are cool but the music is just formulaic and repetitive. If this is the best they can do, they're done. I suppose MTV will take well to this. It's just that I didn't expect Bodom to jump the shark so suddenly. I expected a more gradual In Flames style progression.

R.I.P. CoB

Isn't it just a single/EP you're talking about?

I always thought that about all their albums. Nothing new here...

Well, imo, at some point in his career, a band has to re-invent himself... Maiden did it while recruiting Dickinson, Metallica with the black album etc... It was time CoB changed his formula a bit... Imo, it would have been a better idea to add a clean vocalist but, hey !, that's Alexi's band after all...

so, it's hard rock with keyboards and the leads are cool... and it has a Britney cover ! coooooool :D if it's any close to Lordi I think I'll enjoy it... too bad you didn't but then, how many times did you listen to this album ?

ho, and, btw, can you tell me how CoB turning gard rock as anything to do with an In Flames progression ? :?

Viva CoB... Viva la "roca dura"

I don't care about the cover (its a b-side for gawds sake), its In Your Face I'm worried about. The verse parts where it's just Alexi singing over the drums....oh man, I though Nu Metal was dead. :(

well... I heard nothing "NU" in that new song... sure it's not the best CoB ever released but it's a fine thrashy power metal song... the cover sucks (but who can top Gorath's cover of Britney's Toxic anyway ? )

ho, and since I only could find crappy mp3 of that single I'm not too sure how the real thing sounds... can anybody help me figure that out ? via MSN Messenger maybe ?...

I'm quite sad to hear that. I hope the station has it in so I can hear it without buying it first. There's nothing worse than buying a brand new album by a band you love and having it turn out to be crap.

Well, this sucks, though it was to be expected after the decline in Hate Crew and the badness of Trashed, Lost and Strungout, though I didn't expect them to get that bad this fast.

In Your Face is the worst song by far. It's like Linkin Park was giving them directions on musical focus.

Wait... There's a Britney Spears cover on the new CoB album? So Britney is modelling on the cover of the new CoB album? Isn't she kinda chubby now though? :)

MTV's already seemed to take a liking to CoB it seems. You'd be shocked and sickened at how many kids are talking about "Bodom" these days.

The same thing has been going on in Finland for some two or three years.

I was never a big fan, but the new stuff is totally sucky. I'm even hearing a metalcore influence in there...

Oh fuck, I had to register just to write this shit. Dont listen to mr metalreviews as he clearly havent heard this album enough.

My objective opinion of this album is that the riffs are more thrashier, and in some places a touch of Slipknot can be heard (If you want peace... is one example), nothing bad about that. I dont listen to Slipknot that much but i gotta say that in some of their songs you get that "wow-this-is-kinda-cool"-feeling, Bodoms infulences might me comparable to that of Slayers latest album, and that certainly sounds great in some parts. But to call this Nu-metal? Give me a break...

Back to my "objective" review. If you liked Follow the Reaper the melodic parts sure'll suit your taste. They are as catchie as ever, Bastards of Bodom just make me smile when the melody starts, not very metal but hey, I cant help it  .

At last theres something about the songs that remind me of Hatebreeder, my favourite album. Cant point my finger on what it is though.

Hope that helps, thanks Felix.

Jay, what did you listen to?

I'm listening If You Want Peace Prepare for War and Are You Dead Yet and I don't hear anything nu or hard rock in there. It's basically hate crew continued... they are actually really cool songs. I don't know what hard rock you listen to, but the stuff I listen to doesn't have fast double bass or thrashy riffs. Are you basing your opinion on one song and a cover?

The cover is also hilarious... I think you're taking it too seriously.

Orion the ultra-cool hate everything that all of his metal friends tell him to dude.

Try acctually listening to some music instead of just being an asshole trying to get respect on a fucking metal page. Im sure you secretly, when no one else is watching, grab your walkman and cry out listening to Linkin Park, or maybe the new Lip Bizkit(or how the hell thats spelled).

And maybe you should try not to just read the posts, but understand them. I never said that it sounded like Slipknot. Or maybe influences is to difficult a word for you?
