I loved that fucking track. Has me really excited for the new album, and that's saying a lot considering I thought Virus and Divinity were very lackluster. Granted they had some good songs but they didn't have that Hypocrisy feel like this track does which in turn (I hope anyways) carries on throughout the album. |

Somewhat, agreed. I hope the song structures vary a bit more, but this sounds more encouraging than anything since Into the Abyss. |

Hypocrisy is one of the best bands ever. Virus blew me away when it came out. Can't wait to hear this. |

I've always disliked Hipocrisy for some reason. Not the "I never really got into them" kind of dislike though. The "I tried so hard because everyone else says they're the best but just can't do it" kind of thing. I can't figure it out. I can't even pick out an element or combination of elements that clash with me. |

I guess I'm curious how much Tagtgren do you hear in Hypocrisy and how does this compare to how much Tagtgren you hear in Nightmares Made Flesh? |

I guess I'm curious how much Tagtgren do you hear in Hypocrisy and how does this compare to how much Tagtgren you hear in Nightmares Made Flesh? I don't really understand the second question. But I as to the first, you'll have several different answers. Some people like their early 90s Florida style brutal death, others like the mid-period stuff, and some prefer more recent albums like 2005's Virus. Personally I'd say Final Chapter/Self-Titled era, but I also find any of their first seven albums are enjoyable. (Going back in time on these) Self-Titled http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-Gb3pZu86g (Warning: major Pink Floydisms ahead on this one) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jj57_YEZ6so Final Chapter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30miDW2jpzE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meMYHSzsKuA Abducted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r11o2O9fFw0(Major Riffage!) Fourth Dimension http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fbNlA7ykrE Osculum Obscenum http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5JmIvmC7W4 (The Florida inspired stuff, pre-Tagtren vocals.) Again, some people love the newer stuff, which is fine, just not my thing. The problem both of you might be facing is just how long their career is and how many style changes they've made. Even on the Hypocrisy albums I like they always manage to write a few throwaway tracks too. |

Actually, I think you're right ^_^ It's the discontinuity that bothers me, maybe. |

Hypocrisy was the 2nd band I ever saw live when I was 14 and I've been a huge fan since. I love the self titled/final chapter and then when Virus came out I saw them again and it was great. Great live act. ![]() |

Great song, pretty decent album, but nowhere as awesome as Virus or A Taste of Extreme Divinity. Hypocrisy are consistently solid though |
